Djokovic has been granted an interim injunction against his deportation. Prevents Australia from deporting him prior to his appeal being determined.

He should just go home.

Hes going to be enemy number 1 and booed massively in a place he was liked even if he wins this case.

I reckon that's a literal translation.

I was married to a Russian, and I know that if you literally translate Slavic languages they can appear quite dramatic and odd figuratively.

As for Djokovic it's his private medical details. If 2 independent panels granted him exemption (and we have no right to know those details) and Australia are politicising this because of the backlash and his profile and alleged vaccine status - I think that's very unfair.

If he is unvaccinated and not allowed in, that is one thing and fair enough - it is Australia's rules - but to be told OK by independent panels then this to very publicly happen..... I think it's been done to shame and humiliate and beused as a pawn in the vaccine drive.

From the BBC, the thoughts of Novak on bread and water. Probably in discussions with his guardian fairies just now to see if they can right the visa wrong for him.

The tennis star has a track record when it comes to questionable scientific claims.

In his book Serve to Win, Djokovic described how in 2010 he met with a nutritionist who asked him to hold a piece of bread in his left hand while he pressed down on his right arm. Djokovic claims he was much weaker while holding the bread, and cited this as evidence of gluten intolerance.

And during an Instagram live, he claimed that positive thought could "cleanse" polluted water, adding that "scientists have proven that molecules in water react to our emotions."

According to Dr David Nunan, a senior researcher at the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine at the University of Oxford, "on the balance of probabilities it is highly unlikely that such claims are true - at least not by current conventions of scientific theory and practice."

Earlier in the pandemic, Djokovic's wife repeated a 5G conspiracy theory on Instagram - her post was given a misinformation label by the social network.

Clearly all deep cover for the fact he's getting blood transfusions and EPO.

Wow - absolute character assassination and incredible media manipulation.

"If you are unvaccinated you must believe that gluten intolerance can be diagnosed by holding bread, or that positive thoughts can cleanse water".

Are you anti vaccination? If so, do you believe positive thoughts can cleanse water? If not, there is no link to being anti vaccination and other musings from Novak.

Australian Authorities now looking into every other vaccine exemption.

BBC News - Novak Djokovic saga: Australia investigates visas of other tennis players
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-59903785

Regardless of how you see it, no denying the authorities have fucked up big time in their handling of all this. Not a good look for Australia or for the tournament - especially after the farce of quarantine last year.

If players have been OK'd to come, complied with what was asked exemption wise, only to be potentially and very publically be deported - they have every right to be raging about it. It damages their reputation, brand, as well as being embarrassing, etc.

Fair enough applying for the visa, and being told no because you don't meet the rules - that is Australia's perogative, but the authorities have seem to have moved the goalposts to make a political point.

Djokovic doesn't come out this looking good either, but still cannot help but feel a particular political example is being made of him given his profile. I've never particularly warmed to him as a sportsman, and undoubtedly he has some crackpot views, but I've sympathy with him here - there seems to be a narrative to publically humiliate the guy.

The head of Tennis in Australia has made a rip roaring cunt of this.

Should have been zero tolerance to any unvaxxed players.

So desperate to get him in.

Even if he does get allowed to play the Aussie support will boo the fuck out of him. Especially now that he is fucking Jesus being persecuted.

The government/border control have been worse.

They've now sent home two others who were allowed into the country on the same exemption.

Clearly this is all political as you don't allow people in if its 'rules are rules' you knock them straight back. Now doing a complete u turn as they've went full in to make a point with Djokovic.
