Target: £160 - to buy a Rangers TV Annual Subscription for Erskine Mains Home and Erskine Bishopton Home, and two pairs of tickets for Erskine for the upcoming Play-off Match

govanblue 16,847
Good Deeds - Member DonationA big Thank-You to Loyal Fund Member offshoreworker who has also stepped up with a donation! offshoreworker is already the Proud Sponsor of Erskine Bishopton's Match Programme Subscription. He has also paid £40 to reserve 4 RDF Fundraising Night tickets for himself and his family. Unfortunately he forgot to tell his wife, who has now gone and booked their Summer Holiday for the same period. So offshoreworker has had to cancel his reservation - but he told me to keep the £40 and do something useful with it. If we add that £40 to the additional £10 he donated last night , that gives us the magical number of £50Meaning that offshoreworker's latest donation can pay for our 4th and final Rangers TV Subscription for Erskine Bishopton Home. Meaning that every other single penny we receive in the current fundraiser from the rest of the Members can now go straight towards Play-off Tickets for Erskine. Popular Post govanblue 16,847
I've just had a (half-hour!) chat with Carol about everything we're up to.Once again she passes on her thanks, but in particular she wanted to thank us again for making John's Wish on the Wishing Wall come true. She was telling me a bit more about John. He's 96, and sadly he doesn't take much active interest in any of the Recreational Activities that are always going on at Erskine.Except one - anything that involves going to see Rangers, and he's out the door before you can say "grab your scarf" Carol wanted me to try to get across to you how important these match tickets have been to Erskine Park, because without them, the staff would struggle to find anything else that would engage John so readily.John will hopefully be able to attend the RDF Fundraising Night at Ibrox too. He's certainly looking forward to it.Which reminds me - we had reserved 10 tickets for Erskine for the RDF Fundraising Night. But then it occurred to me that 9 Passengers plus a driver left 2 empty seats on their Bus - which seemed like a missed opportunity. So we'll now be buying 12 tickets instead, and making sure the bus is full. Total cost £180 HG5, Courtyard Bear, Rfc#1. and 4 others

govanblue 16,847
Oh and since we're offering, Erskine could use 8 tickets for the upcoming Play-Off. I'm not sure how the ticket sales will be managed for this game, but hopefully we should be able to buy 8 tickets for it easily enough (the difficulty is getting seats in a suitable section, with virtually no stairs to deal with, which means the very front of the enclosure, so they can enter through the wheelchair route rather than through the turnstiles and up the stairs).I reckon it'll be about £280 £160 for the 8 tickets, which we have enough to cover thanks to our current fundraiser. govanblue 16,847
Thanks to SW3, EKCO and newlanarkboy for their donations. That brings us up to 28 donors. Our ever-shifting target is firstly to raise £100 for the RangersTV packages - That's done, thanks to bettertogether and offshoreworker. So for the rest of us, the goal is to raise as much as we can between us towards the £280 £160 needed for the 8 match tickets for Erskine for the upcoming Rangers v QoS Play-off.We should make that. We also have some money set aside to make up any shortfall, but don't let that be a reason to stop you donating a Final Fundraiser Fiver if you haven't already. http://www.rangersmedia.co.uk/forum/donate.html

govanblue 16,847
Good Deeds - Member DonationA big Thank-You to Loyal Fund Member thistleman who has also stepped up with a £50 donation! Now I know what you're thinking - "But we've already received the 8 £50 donations we needed to make sure the 4 Erskine Homes get their Rangers TV and Match Programmes. Tht's all sorted." That's true, but there was one tiny little thing I forgot to mention - as well as supporting the 4 Erskine Homes, we also intend to support some of our younger Veterans, the Residents of Hollybush House (Combat Stress), with a RangersTV package and a Match Programme subscription for the coming season.I was worried about how I was going to break the news to you, given all my promises about no more fundraising but thistleman's excellent and timely donation means that we're half-way there already, so now I don't feel so bad. So that's the RangersTV sorted - we'll worry about the match programme subscription later. (Hopefully there's still one more generous benefactor out there willing to put up £50 to Sponsor Hollybush House's Match Programme Annual Subscription - so I'll look forward to hearing from them some day, but in the meantime, I know for sure there are more of you out there who can spare one last fiver to make sure we can get those 8 Play-off tickets for Erskine! govanblue 16,847
I've had PM's back from 21 of the 28 Members listed above confirming their donations. Probably one or two of the remaining 7 have already donated too, just not PMed me to let me know. And one or two members will be donating next week. So I won't collect the figures from Admin until after that.Meaning we can keep this thread active until then. Based on the PMs, it looks like we've raised about £290 so far. £150 of that will pay for the three subscriptions, leaving £140 towards the Play-off tickets.Leaving a shortfall on the tickets of £140. £20Hopefully one or two more donations over the next week will reduce that shortfall a bit, but whatever shortfall is left we will dip into the existing funds to cover. Onward and bumpward.
govanblue 16,847
Good news.I got my sums wrong in the post above. The cost of the tickets will probably be no more than £160, not £280 So the shortfall is not £140, it's only £20 So I reckon we can raise that easily enough, and we won't have to dip into the existing funds at all.
