McCoist is facing heat from Gers fans

The Gers gaffer's position has been called into question by some fans after a poor start to the campaign.

The Ibrox side toiled at home to Hibernian in the Petrofac Training Cup and slumped to defeat in their Championship opener against Hearts on Sunday.

Pressure is mounting on McCoist and his players as they look to get their second-tier title challenge quickly back on track against Falkirk tomorrow night.

Ibrox icon DJ said: "There were calls for the manager to go aftEr the game on Sunday, as there were after a couple of games last season.

"The fans want the team to win but you can't win all the time.

"You have to remember, Sunday was the first time Rangers had been beaten at home in a long, long time. Ally knows what is expected of him and what he has to do. No one has to remind him about the demands of this job.

"The Greatest Ever Ranger, John Greig, was sacked as manager so anyone can lose their job at Rangers and Ally is well aware of that.

"But he will continue to work hard and will be determined to turn things around, starting with the Falkirk game."

While McCoist has come in for criticism for his team selection and tactical approach, the performances of some of his tried and trusted stars have also been put under the spotlight by the Light Blue legions.

A number of players have failed to show the form that they are capable of and Johnstone has urged the Gers squad to up their game to ease the pressure at Ibrox.

He said: "Ally has got to pick a team that is good enough to win these games and has got a bit of fight in it.

"I think the fans are looking for that bit of dig, a sign of more effort to get everyone on and off the park on the same hymn sheet. I worry that they're being bullied by other teams.

"Ally might pick players that fans think he shouldn't be picking, but he knows what they will give him.

"He can't afford to be loyal to too many people, though, because, at the end of the day, if he doesn't get results the players won't get the sack, it is the manager.

"And he'll get it in the neck from all directions - punters, former players and the media.

"He has got to sit down and have a real think about the way forward.

"Rangers have to get their act together tomorrow night for themselves and for the manager.

"I would expect a far, far different performance from Rangers on Friday, they have got to.

"But we know that there is only one man who will get the stick and has to carry the can and that is the manager.

"If the players like their manager, they have to start getting their finger out and performing and getting results

Come on DJ don't be ignorant, it's not just the poor start to the season people are bothered about. We could handle two bad performances back to back - if they were the only bad performances. Around 80% of the games Ally has been in charge of have been unwatchable and well below par. Get rid.

The line that got me fizzing was "If the players like their manager, they have to start getting their finger out and performing and getting results". Sums up the whole Cheeky Chappy, all pals together ethos that is ruining our club. Spineless and witless! You're there to play football, not to party!

Aye OK DJ we are looking for effort and a bit of dig... If that sends one message to Ally, it tells him to keep playing jig where dig and effort are a given. Unfortunately DJ we want more than that we want our team to not get outplayed every time they step in the pitch. We want a bit of substance and style. In summary DJ I think you are wrong.

If Ally can't deliver in the next few games he'll seriously have to consider giving it up. I'm sure he knows that. But lock this thread as it'll turn in to yet another Ally basher. There are already too many of those.

If Ally is not removed from his position ,then you can't have enough of the so called Ally bashing threads .Our club has to "try " to adhere to the standards we once had With this man in charge ,it won't happen .Never .He has to go and very quickly so a new Manager has at least 1 year to get us up to speed for next year .Ally apologists need not reply .DJ being is mate is one of those .

So.....

At the end of the day. ...

It was all the players fault. They didn't perform.

Nothing to do with Ally.

Just a poor start to the season....

Everything was fine until then. ....

Still is apparently. ...

At least DK didn't try to blame it on Charlie Green or the sunshine, moonlight or the boogie.

Why do people sell out their integrity so cheaply ?

If he doesn't want to have a go at his mate then say nothing.

Don't go writing rubbish like that which he clearly doesn't believe. Nobody is that out of touch and if he is then his employers aren't getting value for money.

It is insulting the fans intelligence and damaging the tiny amount of credibility he has left.

He isn't helping Ally or Rangers trying to keep him in the job.

Not to mention the "Why Ally Had To Go" piece he's already got written in his drawer.

Good article, can, t really argue with it, think it shouts give him a little more time we have after all only played 2 games. He also comes across as saying the Manager knows the pressure he is under

Give him more time?

He's had 3 bloody years!

The mans a dud and should be in a TV studio cracking jokes not making an arse of our club on a weekly basis.
