Aleksandar Tonev Appeal Tribunal

By: Newsroom Staff on 16 Dec, 2014 13:22

  • CELTIC Football Club is extremely disappointed by the outcome of the Scottish FA’s Appeal Tribunal.
We do not consider that any player should be found guilty of such a grave offence on the basis of the evidence presented in this case. Celtic Football Club will be approaching the Scottish FA to seek to address this issue.
We would like to make it clear that at no stage was it ever suggested that Shay Logan had made any false allegations. However, Aleksandar Tonev’s position consistently has been that he did not say the words that were alleged to have been said and that he is not a racist. Celtic Football Club has enjoyed an excellent relationship with Aberdeen Football Club and this, of course, will continue.
As we have said many times before, racism has no place in football and as a Club which has been open to all ever since its formation in 1888, Celtic abhors racism of any kind.
Clearly, Aleksandar continues to have our full support.

So we're not saying he didn't say it, we're just saying because he's one of our all-inclusive, we'll back him.

You can't make up quality PR spin like that.

It's straight from the Sinn Fein playbook let's be honest.

Absolutely spot on, buddy!

These cunts tell us they never do anything wrong, while making out everything we do is wrong, and when they are actually in the wrong, somehow they're not really because it is all an injustice.

They'll be heartbroken and pigsick that they haven't they have found an Irish gran in his background or even an auntie's neighbour that once took a day- trip to Dublin.

So sellik what did he say?

Apparently he said, he was "a filthy digger" and "a back cunt" since he's a defender.

Also, according to Google, this is Shay Logan...

Here's the DR's report,

Why would he deny that he understands what the word means if he never said it?

Celtic winger Aleksandar Tonev loses appeal against seven-match ban over racist abuse of Aberdeen defender

THE SFA appeal tribunal said that they found the Bulgarian star's defence that he didn't now what the language mean was "inherently improbable".

CELTIC winger Aleksandar Tonev has lost his appeal against a seven-match ban for using racist language.

A Scottish Football Association appeal tribunal threw out the appeal after the on-loan Aston Villa winger was earlier banned over an incident involving Aberdeen full-back Shay Logan.

The SFA has published the report of both panels who examined the case.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila had earlier indicated the club would challenge the decision further if it was upheld.

The report of the original panel hearing stated that Logan had accused Tonev of saying: "Don't touch me you black c***" when the Aberdeen defender put his arm across the Celtic player moments after fouling him.

Tonev denied saying the offensive words and no-one else heard them but the panel heard that Logan quickly told his captain, Mark Reynolds, referee Bobby Madden, and manager Derek McInnes.

The report described Logan as an "impressive witness".

It added: "He gave his evidence in a careful and measured manner. He gave clear and unequivocal evidence that Mr Tonev had used the language complained of and that it had been targeted at him."

However, the panel stated they were unable to accept the Bulgarian as "either credible or reliable" on the central issue of the case.

The report continued: "His evidence on his understanding of the language said to have been used, was particularly unsatisfactory.

"In chief examination his evidence was to the effect that he did not know what the word 'c***' meant.

"On cross examination he explained that he had heard the term in his time at Aston Villa but did not know what it meant. He then accepted that he was aware that it was a term of abuse.

"The impression was of a witness giving a less than a full account of his actual understanding; and seemed to the tribunal to be an inherently improbable account."

Next case, your Honour ...

Mark Walters and various other examples of racism and general scummy behaviour prove otherwise unless its because they don't see anti-British racism as an issue.

Only open to all because if they had limited eligible players to the 17% of the population that they represent, they would be incapable of challenging for anything.

They believe all of that nonsense as well and their infiltration of the media and politics ensures it is a widely accepted view.

We are the only ones who see through the scum and recognize them for what they truly are.

By the same logic applied to Evans being acknowledged as a convicted rapist this Bulgarian is a racist and state aid fc should be brought to book for condoning his words.

Logan's tweet proves he wasn't lying, if he was he wouldn't have made it

No surprise the mhanky mob won't admit it....big jock knew you know

Accused of hooliganism and a player guilty of racism. But go on the Newsnow news service and look at the media response. Michele keegan supports Celtic(Yahoo), Celtic give free match tickets to the unemployed(Skysports and The Mirror). Only the Daily Mail reported on UEFA charges. When the story broke about The SFA complaint against Ashley, 15 media outlets had an article up within 30 minutes.

If at any point he claimed as his defence that he didn't know what "cunt" meant, then does he admit he said "black"?

It's a weak form of defence and if he then changed his case, or perhaps before, then I think the committee clearly came to the correct decision.

The scum have overplayed their hand and are probably going down the PR road on this one, and are focusing on the system, rather than the case. They're also logically inconsistent in claiming he definitely didn't say it but also claim he shouldn't have been found guilty as it was one man's word against another.

They're now getting so cocky that the SFA can't back them up on this one.
