Isn't it more important to first have a functioning board that works in the interests of the club, is reasonably transparent and is trusted by the fanbase?

With that you would improve revenue and even hope to begin on a road twards getting the club back to a more normal place.

Charles Green should serve as a warning for bullshit artists who pretend to defend the club but are organising the finances and contracts in a creative way that damage the club.

Yeah let's get in a functioning board of Dinky, Malkie and PM, no worries.

Don't just judge from one side of three Ex-failed directors of the club, let's try and focus on other things like the woeful football on display.

Didn't read beyond this!

"This was the once mighty Glasgow Rangers I was watching. A club shorn of its very spirit by greed and vainglory, humbled in its arrogance and haughtiness, with many of its once loyal fans riddled with fear and loathing for its present regime."

By who, Bill? Humbled by who?

Arrogance? Haughtiness? Greed? Vain glory? You need to look outside the club for those answers, Bill.

Your anger is being directed in the wrong direction. We are where we are, because of others outside this club. If we continue to rip the club apart from the inside, without looking outward, then we are doomed to failure.

The club have been the victim of a witchhunt, and still are. The sooner we fight back as a group, the sooner we can move forward. That's where my anger is!

It has been terrible to watch - the football on the pitch - the bad results and points gap - the never ending financial / Boardroom issues - the boycotts - the Supporer groups with strong and often opposing views - power struggles. 2015 could be a very very difficult year in Rangers long and great history. A year in which the future of Rangers could be defined for many seasons to come (assuming of course that events do not unfold to the point where recovery becomes beyond us).

At the AGM it is to be hoped that the ok is given to raise additional investment and that investors are then persuaded that investment is worthwhile. Without sufficient money coming in early in the New Year it seems that the start of very big trouble could begin. If MA is perpared to act then let him act. Timing could be everything in what must also be a hearts and minds campaign to restore Suipporter comnfidence in the way the Club is operated.

Assuming sufficient money can be found to get to the end of the season and through the close season period the other issue is the state of the team, the results, the matter of confidence (lack of it) in the Manager to deliver. If the whole thing becomes a strategy of ensuring we are part of the play offs and then the real season starts and the real Rangers appears and the quality and experience that has been assembled bears fruit and hey presto we win promotion. That outcome should have a very big and powerful positive impact. The wretched football displays can be put in the rear view mirror and we can focus on getting to grips with the Premiership. It would make a big difference.

But if promotion is not to be then whoever is on the Board is going to have to act to make very big cuts to bring down spending to be less than whatever income is being projected. No escaping this. And it would be a Rangers operating at mucn reduced levels until a manager and team and investors could be found to rebuild. That rebuilding could take a number of seasons. Hoping this will not happen is fine enough but there does imo need to be some hard headed thinking about how we rebuild and how that rebuilding is financed if it does happen. The closer we get to the end of the season the more the players will feel the pressure and the play starts to reflect it. Alloa followed by a empty performance against Cowdenbeath does not bode well with months still to go.

Very very soon money is needed along with credible and effective executive leadership along with credible and effective football leadership which then leads to much improved league results and performances and promotion, and a return of Supporters who have stayed away. Too much to ask? I hope not. 2015 - a defining year.

That's a good post Reformation Bear. Unfortunately I think many supporters are simply burying there heads in the sand and are unable to face some unpalatable issues and therefore all the hope is simply pinned on Ashley as being the saviour.

I have my doubts.

The last few years have been bad enough, but the forthcoming one will be as important as any in our history - as you say - a defining year.

spin city: I had CG in mind to some extent about getting the right person/spokesman in. CG was just blustering for the money he could see coming his way with all the fans coming in, so, ideally we'd be better off with someone that may represent Ashlsy, or whoever we attract as an investor and not look for the big pay off.
