The Rising. Remember that? Remember the DVD and all the hype?

What would it be now? The Failing? Starring McCoist as failure in chief and leading 'grab the money and get out' merchant. Closely followed by McD. Not forgetting of course Wallace, Stockbridge and the rest of the money grabbing cast of infamous people who came in, bathed themselves in their own spotlights, and then departed with saddle bags full of our money.

But wait - that's not all. To rank alongside the above we have a squad of expensively paid and massively failing players. Players who do not deliver. And a caretaker manager who is clueless in managing, ineffective, lacks any sort of credible authoritative leadership quality and who has made it clear he does not want to be there. Abject failures the lot of them. Making a mockery of Rangers and making a mockery of the Support. But getting paid damn well for doing so.

But of course there is more. The Board. 'nuff said. Well, maybe not 'nuff said. DL must go. He may or may not be effective enough at making cost savings. The evidence is not conclusive for me. But one thing is for fucking sure - he sure as fuck is not a leader. A CEO who is as silent as he while football, financial, governance, EGM, media and so on chaos is thumping at the gates of Ibrox is - imo - simply not good enough. Buried in a bunker of self preservation and of cost cutting just does not cut it for me. The lack of visible, driving, positive, compelling leadership in times like this is a fundamental failing in my book. Time for him to be ousted pronto.

But when the rest have had their laughs and its more years in the Championship for Rangers, and its less travelling support to away games and its less TV money as interest in televising Rangers games fades away and its live with prospect of Scottish football trophies being monopolised by the other lot for so many years ahead that the game loses much of its relevance. One club and a gap to the rest and the rest vying for a reducing supporter base, and interest in the game ebbing away. Is that where we are all headed? If so, then what a fucking legacy has been dished out by SDM, Whyte, Green, Mather, Wallace, McCoist, McD and the team this season. The Failing right enough.
