It's not just that he's legally a wrong 'un though, the emerging details seem to suggest he's a predatory character who literally bribed a girl who had already told him she was underage, trying to convince her it was ok, and using his position to persuade her. There's a fairly difference between that and shagging some girl he met in a club with big jugs and then finding out she was 15.
