tannerall 25,935
Mick Channon in the first Tennant Caledonian competition we held at Ibrox in the 70s. He played in the final against us. Was already a target of dislike at most of the Scotland/England games then.He had taken a fair bit of abuse from us the previous day when Southampton drew with Man City. Then in the final he got dog's abuse because one of the papers printed a big "exclusive with Channon" the night before, highlighting the joke he made about there being only two good things coming out of Scotland, the Whisky and the M1. (No harm there as it wound the game up a bit and sold more tickets). He had last laugh though as he scored and Southampton won.

norgerpd 280
And a shite gambler.I worked in a casino in the city centre many moons ago and McGarvey used to come in all the time. I have never wanted to punch any fucker so much in my life.He was a total cock. Clatty looking, squeaky voiced toss-pot.Dixie Deans came in once as well dressed in a white suit with white shoes(thought he was on a Mississippi river boat,obv.).............. another knob.Davie Provan came in loads and,he was actually a good guy. I used to wind him up about jumping the dyke but,as he used to say,if the Gers had asked,he'd have lived his dream.
