It's not their only policy though. It's my opinion they are the best placed to get the best for my constituency. Voting snp in the general election isn't the same as voting yes.

But it's their only reason for existing and that policy will never change.

Nationalism is a malignant ideology . It is always polarising, and it always needs an enemy.

When they can no longer gain popularity through making an enemy of the English, who do you think they will turn on next?

Exactly.

It baffles that people in Scotland who consider themselves left leaning, humanitarian, liberals are now blindly supporting a National party. Do these people know nothing of Europe's history?

I don't mind people voting for what they believe in, but when they vote for a party that just reeks of Nazism is just beyond me?

I will not apologise for that term simply because I have seen some of the SNP supporters out there basically bullying anyone

who does not want to vote for them..

Yes, Hitler started in the same vein. And Sturgeon made me laugh when she was using the exact tone of thought when comparing

a football fan singing a song.

This leads to people like Hitler was her words.

Khmer Rouge

Well if a song leads to someone becoming a Hitler, then your SNP must be akin to the Pol Pot and Idi Amin combined.

Whether you like it or not Rangers are a Unionist club, always have been.

Accept it,come to terms with it,and begin to try and deal with it.

Accepted it quite some time ago amigo. Still doesn't mean I have to agree with any of those ideologies. Loved the club when I was a boy before I really understood about Rangers fans historic affiliation with unionism, monarchy etc and I love them just as much today, even though I don't share in those beliefs. Maybe you should accept not all fans are unionists? :)

This song singing is a peculiar thing not to be taken too seriously. After all god save the queen contains verse 6 about crushing the rebellious Scots & flower of Scotland is about, well we all know what it's about. I sing them both quite happily. That's what makes us human. Paradox.

Aye i bet you love joining in with the soldiers song with your tim pals, just the craic n that

Absolutely spot on mate, it is not often a fan like yourself would ask a unionist fan to stop with it and continue with the football side of it, however when it is the other way around people get bullied, harrassed and even acused of not being a true fan for not agreeing with their " true fan " conditions. Maybe they should learn to " deal with it " since they are the ones causing so many issues and trying to belittle fans for having their own minds and opinions.

See you're bringing politics in to football.

Segregate it and you would probably not be as much a moron.

However, I doubt it...

Did u actually read the previous discussion? Singing Rule Britannia is "bringing politics into it" using ur logic. Another hypocrite

I thought bullying and intimidation was like flag burning, a standard modus operandi for the National Socialists. Seems playing the victim card is too.

Voting snp doesn't automatically make you a separatist or unable to be proud of being both Scottish and British.

Labour gave up on the working class, the Tories are irrelevant in Scotland and the lib dems screwed themselves last time.

Means snp are going to romp it up here and tbd they're the only ones that seem to care up here.

Rule Britannia, as in RULE Britannia? Aye goes hand in hand with independence. Absolute desperation. Try singing it at an SNP rally and see how far you get.

"Quintessential means the very essence, something in its purest form. And the thing about Rangers, it is based in Scotland, but first and foremost it is a British club. A lot of fans come over from Northern Ireland to support, and a lot of English fans, too. Like Barcelona, it is mas que un club [more than a club]: it stands for something in society. It embraces the whole concept of the union of the United Kingdom, and if you go to Ibrox you'll see the union flag is the one flying highest above the stadium."

To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him."

Mr Struth will be turning in his grave

This.

Rangers has always been British. No one denied that until these desperate twats started popping up during the referendum. I dont understand how anyone could support Independence then sit in Ibrox while we sing about the Union same as I couldnt sit in the piggery listening to folk singing about bombing us. But i can stick by my beliefs.

I never said i was on either side, and infact i actually am on neither, i am simply talking about the Rangers football fans from all walks of life and opinions on political matters who get slaughtered for not agreeing with what another fans opinion or decision is about something political. I am not talking solely about any one particular mindset.

I didn't vote for independence, I've no intention of going to a rally for any political party never mind singing at one.

Can't speak for everyone but I find that my love for Rangers FC outweighs my disparity with the political views of the majority of fans. When I go to Ibrox Politics is at the very back of my mind - I'm there to support the 11 men on the park just as my old man did and his old man and most likely his old man.

Exactly. I am equally Scottish and British. If Scotland ever became independent sometime in the future, we would still be Scottish and British.

It's not just about where political decisions are made. There is culture and family and history that will always bond us.

I'm betting that when you look up disingenuous in the dictionary, it simply says 'Andy2020'.

Tell me why I can't be Scottish and British ?

I want a better, more balanced Britain, with far more powers for the Scotland parliament.

Right now, the UK parliament is effectively seen as the English parliament.
