Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play

They've been going in and out of style

But they're guaranteed to raise a smile
So may I introduce to you
The act you've known for all these years

We didn't just sign a world class player that day, but a true British icon. Loved everywhere in England, and he chose to sign for the famous Glasgow Rangers.

Aye just thinking about that , as somebody who was only a toddler at this time , I can't imagine these types of signings at ibrox and the buzz it would have created , it would be like us signing a genuine top class player from the continent just now signing . Would have been a magical time to be a bear

Sergeant Gascoigne taught the bhoys how to play...............

He'd been going in and out of style
But he was guaranteed to raise a smile.
So may I introduce to you
The act you've known for all these years,
Paul Gascoigne who played the flute in front of the scum heap stand.

It was wonderful to be there,
It was certainly a thrill.
And Gers fans were such a lovely audience,
He'd have liked to take us home with him,
He'd have loved to take us home............

We did n't really want to stop the show,
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Maestro
Sgt. Gascoigne who played the flute in front of the scum heap stand.

It's frightening that it's been 20 years! I remember everyone dying their hair yellow just after he signed.

Feel so sorry for him now, the man was a genius.

He took Rino Gatuso out shopping to buy some designer clothes when he signed. He told him to buy whatever he wanted as the club was paying. Gazza paid for the lot out of his own pocket.
