I hate to be the one to lay it on you miltants but Spiers has been on Off The Ball this evening singing the praises of the fans and the atmosphere.

He was especially gushing in his praise of our resident Bearettes and says the vibe at Ibrox has changed for the better.

Stuart Cosgrove asked him if he was looking for redemption from Rangers fans and he said he didn't care and even though he is a "severely lapsed fan" he just wanted to revisit the home of his boyhood heroes.

He said only one guy ("a bit of a nutter") was giving him abuse but that enough decent fans were there to tell the guy to shut up and sit down "in no uncertain terms... and he did."
