It was only in 1940 that it was reported that he had agreed to join Rangers after the war ended. Its stretching a point to include him on the playing staff. He was a Wishaw Thistle player when he won the VC.And should be seen as Wishaw Thistle player. They need tenuous links to excuse their reprehensible actions. Rangers have no such need. I have no doubt Walter Tull would have been a Rangers great and celebrated in the same way he is at Northampton had he played.
