We Need To Strengthen In January

I'm not panicking at all, I think we're a very good team with a fantastic manager who will take us forward but at the moment, Hibs (with a little help from their pals celtc) have more strength in depth. I'm not saying they have a better starting 11 but they have more options to choose from and are currently cruising.

We should be looking to strengthen the central midfield area in particular and also we still need another forward or two.

I can't see our current squad being strong enough to win the league, aye they're a good bunch of players but we need more options. Being able to make a quality substitution is often what separates the best teams from the rest. Looking at the bench today, absolutely no-one filled me with hope to come on and change the game, the same predictable Shiels and Miller subs are becoming mundane and basic. We need more.

Forever and ever

'I can't see our current squad being good enough to win this league'. Absolutely Embarassing.

Apart from that I do agree we need a CM and another decent striker. Something to mix it up a wee bit to keep teams guessing. We are too predictable. Our squad is good enough, better than Hibs but still need another wee tweak IMO

We mest up giving hivs Darren McGregor for nowt especially knowing how much they hate us and won't sell any of their players to us.

We should have loaned hivs him with a caveat it can't play against us, not that I'm worried about him but just to unsettle their defence.

Hivs have played together for years whereas we are only together under half a season.

I expect signings in the transfer window but also expect our lead to increase on the run up to the window, starting when hivs play Morton and Falkirk.

Darren McGregor was the best of a bad bunch, he is a half decent defender.

Take Cummings out their team and they loose at least 10 points, if he gets injured for a month or so then their seasons over.

We need to stop talking about Hibs dropping points etc, yes the more than likely will drop points but we need to stop guessing as to when and just keep winning our games.

We are suffering a dip in form, which is natural.

We were flying high and so fans just expect that to be the same week-in week-out, but it was difficult to keep up once teams get a grip of how to play against us.

Warburton will be watching and knowing exactly what is needed, and I'm sure changes will come.

We are miles short. Of being good enough this season and further off being able to challenge next. If we go up.

Do you actually go to the games, mate? I have to say that I've enjoyed watching the Rangers this year more than I have had for many a year. Attacking, adventurous, playing with width, giving boys with talent a chance in the team, taking a few risks, and winning most of the time into the bargain.

Only time will tell if we will win the title but it will take a good team to beat us.

This team is easily good enough to win this league.

Maybe just lost a little bit and everything isn't as precise as it was but we are still the best team in the league.

Some crucial games coming up before the end of the year and these will show what buys are needed in Jan - although I'm sure the management team already know their targets

People are on here are obsessed with the word "panic" ... I've not seen anyone panic to be fair.

You can't seem to criticize players, performances, tactics or results without someone thinking they're smart saying stuff like "I'd hate to see you when we get beat" or "panic stations" - it's not panic stations.

I seen this crap on forums with McCoist as manager - you couldn't be honest and give an honest evaluation without getting it from some people.

Unlike the handwringers, apologists, YES'ers and nationalists that seem to pollute the Rangers support online that you never see at games, in pubs or on buses - the sorts I'm talking about above are actually rife. Say something honest but isn't positive there's always that wee voice saying "support the team!" there's always one.

In short my personal opinion is that results like today and Hibs have been on the cards for months but no-ones been allowed to point it out. Prevention is better than cure.

That said, to flip it, we are still in a strong position but we must buck our ideas up. Sharp.

PS - yes we need to strengthen in Jan. Not wholesale changes as we still have a core of good, talented, well balanced players but they need some proper competition and the team needs freshened up IMO.

Of course i do. I've enjoyed it at times too. I enjoyed some spells today. But that is just it. It's "at times" and "in spells". That isn't good enough. Despite our goal difference we are missing far too many chances and have too many passengers in the team who just don't contribute enough to warrant a place in the team. Winning "most of the time" at this level isn't good enough either. This is the Scottish lower leagues not the Bundesliga mate. If we don't win the league this time again it will be every bit as humiliating as the *3Ms failure last season, probably even more so. The 2 biggest tests of the season we have lost. We aren't playing well at the minute and haven't really for a long time.

*McCoist, McDowall and McCall.

Maybe we need to put in an offer for Hivs player Cummings?

We will, no doubt, be told that they'll never sell him to us, but it might unsettle Cummings a bit, put him off his game, stop him from scoring every week.

They'll end up punting him to their Glasgow sweethearts at the piggery, just like they always do.

Without a doubt we need to strengthen, it's been part of MWs mantra that we need to keep improving BUT by fuck some people need to get a wee bit of a grip here, we've drawn 1 and lost 1, right now it's a form dip.

It's mental that this team and players were being lauded weeks ago yet now they're not good enough......

It has actually been 3 months.

I know how long they were being lauded for what I mean is the change over the past few weeks.

Teams have adapted to us and we've had a dip in form. This time is easily good enough to win this league, although without a doubt we need to add quality.

No no, they were lauded for a month or two at the start of the season and haven't kicked a ball since. Kiernan was in the press shouting about scoring 9 every week. That was the turning point. Early September iirc.

We changed 3 months ago. Since then it has been consistently average to poor.

Too many fans have their head in the sand as to where we are just now, A proper rangers team would be strolling this league, we're not. We are a million miles off the standard required to win the league next season. All this with us expected to finish the season 12-14 million pounds in debt.

The club couldn't afford Scott Allan or John Eustace, so much for Kings £30m!

Quite scary when laid out like that.
