Bigsasasfloppyhair 13,310
Never played against a rangers player, but did coach Charlie Telfer when he was younger. Was frightening how good he was.Through work though regularly played fives with the Motherwell team, guys like McFadden, Hammel, Lasley, Leitch, Foran, Craigan, Pearson etc. That we bastard McFadden would squeeze out of and bloody corner, tricky wee bugger. stafford 163
Played with and against a load of players for other teams few current internationals aswell. Only listing Rangers players I had a kick about with Amoruso, Ferguson, de Boer, Moore, and Arveladze at half time during a pre season game in New Jersey. Actual games I played with and against Derek Ferguson and Bobby Russell when doing coaching at Ibrox both technically brilliant.

one cutty young 140
Played against Robert Prytz- he played into late 40's with West Kilbride amateurs. He was playing against us (Drongan Utd) in Drongan which is a totally bluenose village. He was just sitting in midfield spraying passes and controlling the ball dead when it came to him. One of our local numpties was giving him pelters but just wee funny things nothing abusive as he would have got lynched if he had. They got a free kick about 30 yards out and the numpty shouted I will bet you a fiver you dont score. Prytz without looking at him just put his thump up in the air and proceeded to put the ball in the top corner and cooly walked over through all the subs and boys watching the game put his hand out for the fiver - we were all gutting ourselves even though we lost a goal. He took the fiver and gave it to a young lad watching with a Rangers top on - pure class.

Orange Persson 555
Played Davie Cooper...........at club tennis. Real gent and cool guy. Had a game of fives with McCoist. I played fives with other guys who played top Junior and some Senior at provincial clubs. However, Ally was an unbelievable fives player.....different class and a real all round good guy, just like Coops. Played against and with, plenty of player in schools football who made it for other clubs. Arthur Graham, Frank Gray, Stewart McLean, Bobby Houston. Not any Rangers men unfortunately. choochooblue 342
I played in goals against Davie Wilson in a 11 aside match . He was in his mid 50's at the time and turned up in a convertible Peugeot with a 30yr old blonde bimbo driving (could have been his daughter) . He ripped us apart from start to finish, we lost 5-2 with Davie scoring 2 and setting up the other 3 . His second was sublime as he skipped by 2 defenders and rounded me to roll it into the net . Near the end one of our centre half's scythed him down from behind with a shocker of a tackle. He was a nutter who was Rangers daft and wanted to go home and tell his dad he walloped his hero . Domthenbud 899
When I started this thread I never realised we had such a talented fan base. Mr Warburton has nothing to worry about in the January transfer window or should that read the January sales.
Brackley Bluenose 4,482
Worked in the Calley in Tenerife for a summer and big Georgie Mac is pals with Charlie Adam. He came in every night of his holiday and played a couple of times in our 5 a side team. He then went on to score that goal against Stuttgart and get his move to England. We must have taught him something!
Don81 2,875
Stuart McCall tied his dog to a tree and had a kick about with me and my mates when I was about 12. Great experience from a great player.
Turnberry18 3,204
Yes he was cracking player, his two brothers were equally as good but didn't get the breaks or luck to be as successful.Very significant that Jock Wallace was the manager just at the time when he was making a break through, and then Graeme Souness. Davie Cooper flourished under these two as well. He would have been encouraged to go out and express himself, and they would have allowed him to play his natural game. A great player.
