Scottish Cup Weekend

Recommended Posts

Looking at the fixtures and noticed that the Hearts versus Aberdeen is live on BBC one tomorrow. It might be worth a watch to gauge where we think our team is in comparison to second and third in the SPFL premiership as they battle it out in a cup tie.

There's a few other decent ties over the weekend too. Linlithgow Rose taking on Forfar has the potential for an upset imo and also East Kilbride versus Lothian Thistle means there will definitely be lower league representation in the fifth round of the cup.

Should we beat Cowdenbeath I would like us to get either an away tie to the likes of Linlithgow Rose or a home tie versus St Johnstone in order to get that league cup game out of our system.

I watched the Hearts game against them, a few weeks back, and thought that they were both shite. Kick and rush football on show, not pleasing on the eye.

Used to have a soft spot for Hearts, not anymore, hate both clubs equally, but hope that Hearts win, so that the sheep concentrate fully on the league. I live in hope?

If Hearts can come straight up and sit comfortably in third place then we should be capable of challenging for at least second place, if not for the title itself.

Too much has been made of the cup defeat to Saint Johnstone. They destroyed the mutton-diddlers by five goals to one back in October, yet are twelve points adrift of the sheep mob with a game in hand, which just goes to show what one result means in the overall span of a league campaign.

Granted we're not the finished article, but if we strengthen between now and then and work on ironing out our weaknesses then surely we can be a force to be reckoned with in the top flight.
