McKay Waghorn O'Halloran up front will be ur front 3 unless one is sold.  That is quick, strong and powerful spread over.

Midfield will have Crooks and Holt, I still think we'll see another CM come in but if not it'll be Windass.

Defending is where it'll happen for us in the transfer market.  I think a new CB and another RB or LB Will be brought in.

disagree,i'd be amazed if a striker isn't brought in we desperately need a goalscorer

Working on the assumption that we keep all our current players and add windass and crooks what would you have a starting eleven.

We wont keep all of our current players and I'd expect us to be bringing in at least four more bodies that can walk straight in to the first-team.  Guessing next years starting line-up is a pointless exercise.

Surprised to see Kiernan in so many teams. Wilson has consistently been the better of the two after a ropey first couple of months and I'm not convinced he's good enough for next season either.

As others have said though if we don't sign another 5/6 players of increased quality we're really going to struggle, so its likely the squad will have a pretty different make up to it at the start of next season.

He's pretty much earned it. Kiernans been far more solid over the season than Wilson, to the point that he's warranted Man of the match.

Although his mistakes are bad ones, he makes them less than what Wilson does. He's also played in the SPL before against Celtic no less. So he knows what to expect.

For me I think we need 4/5 quality additions, I really dont think we are miles away from challenging them now ( a team that drew with Hamilton :541: )

There is not much difference imo between Partick, Hamilton, Killie or D Utd and Raith, Morton, St Mirren I also think QOTS and Falkirk would give Inverness, Dundee, Ross Co a game. As Hibs have shown they can compete with A/deen, Hearts & St Johnstone thats a Hibs team we have beaten 3 times and scored 12 against.

Our fight will be with consistency, we shall need a bit more quality in front of goal and cover for all the other positions to challenge for the title next year.

I for one cant wait

While Kiernan was playing in the SPL against Celtic for Kilmarnock (on loan, 4 games in total) Wilson was playing in the SPL against Celtic, and the Champions League, and the Europa League for Rangers and Liverpool (40+ games in total).

That being said, comparing what either player was doing 6 years ago isn't a marker on current form, and for me Wilson has consistently been the better of the two better since a ropey first couple of months of the season.

I'm not convinced either are good enough to be consistent first picks next year, but history suggests Wilson has a better chance to succeed at that level because he's done it before, Kiernan hasn't.

I'd be very underwhelmed with that level of expenditure,2 or 3 seven figure signings are required imo with striker being number1 priority

Agree 100% but would not be too unhappy if we only pushed the boat out for a striker. Maybe that's because I'm spoiled with the strikers/centre forwards I have had the pleasure of watching in a blue jersey over the years from The Rhino onwards.

Kiernan is the better defender out the two. There was a long time where he was the only decent one because Wilson was constantly fucking up. People on here noticed that and too his credit Wilson has improved.

But the fact that Kiernan has been the main defender for us and has done a good job at doing so isn't something to ignore. Especially now that Wilson is just starting to get better.

http://therangersreport.com/2016/01/26/defensive-zone-exits-rob-kiernan-leads-the-way-again/ This shows that, there is other reports like this but I have to go look for 'em.

Kiernan is far better a pick than Wilson, he's shown he's reliable and although he has dropped the ball at times he's done it less so than what Wilson has. He's also played for us more this season than Wilson for good reason.

It's amazing how two people can see things differently I guess. Bar the first couple of months it's been Wilson who's been marginally better for me, but I'm still not sure he'll be good enough for a permanent first pick next year and Kiernan certainly isn't. All IMO of course.

Complete opposite for me, granted I watch the defense more than the actual offence since I was seeing people saying how bad Wilson was.

So gave him and Kiernan a watch, and Kiernan was just marginally better and still is.

Nah, we need to build slowly, not go straight into spending whacks. If we can get players of O'Hallorans level for 500k whilst overspending then 5 or 6 of them would do us good.

tha'ts all very well if you're aiming for a top 4 finish, not for me though first place is the only acceptable league position and it'll take proper investment to achieve that,if we could pick up a say Jelevic standard striker for 2/3 million we will win the league and with that European football which is where we need to be,getting a quality striker in has to be number 1 priority and they dont come cheap

Don't know how this is going to pan out as i expect us to make at least 4 signings in the Summer, but as it stands currently.....

                       Fod

Tav  ????/Crooks  Kiernan  Wallace

Holt     ????/Crooks           Windass

MOH           Waggy            McKay

I don't know if Crooks will play CB or CDM that's why i included him twice. The Polish Keeper i expect will be off, King back to Hearts, Forrester i have no idea if he will be offered an extension.

Hopefully Bell,Clark,Shiels, Possibly Law will be out the Door in the Summer. Zelalem and Ball will g back to Spurs and Arsenal

Bench... Miller, New keeper/Kelly, Halliday,Wilson,Burt, new striker.

- Foderingham -

- Tavernier - Kiernan - Wilson* - Wallace -

- Crooks - Holt -

- O'Halloran - Windass - X -

- Waghorn -

*Wilson is capable, he's shown that on plenty of occasions. Even yesterday, he made a good few key blocks/interceptions but at the same time, he makes far too many mistakes from a lack of concentration. Hopefully when we're playing better players week in, week out he'll play like we know he can. McKay for me is still too inconsistent, although he'd be some impact sub. As others expect, we'll definitely add a good number of players for next season. I'm happy and confident in the squad, they've shown what they're capable of, hopefully the hunger of being where they want to be will make them kick on next season. I fully expect us to finish at least top 4 with the current squad.

Their will be changes, maybe a centre half, defensive midfielder, goal poacher and a winger at the very least.

Wilson is my only real concern at the back, but we are badly crying out for a winger, I know we have Barry but we need better, and we need a striker who is tall can hold the ball up lay it off and get in the bloody box to get on the end of something.

But even Danny Wilson I would not sell as we need cover and 3 centre backs will serve us better than 2.

But Warbs already knows what and who he wants and I trust him fully.

Wilsons has been the better of the two between him and Kiernan he's bailed him out nearly every game lately.  I don't rate Wilson at all too slow for me but Lately he has been much better than Kiernan.

Lately Kiernan has made mistakes. But over the course of the season it's been Kiernan whose been covering for Wilsons mistakes.

Wilson makes numerous mistakes game in gameout. Kiernan will make 1 or 2. But more often than not his mistakes are far more dangerous.

Lately, he's been making the same mistakes all season and the fouls at the edge of the box he seems to specialise at the end of the game leave most dreading him going near a player.

Wilson shite we should never have signed him.

Definitely. He has lessons to learn, he made the same mistake against Killie as be did Morton (fucking up his 1v1).

Needs to watch his tackles too, he's been carded a few times for it and it was nothing short of a miracle that we didn't get a penalty against us on rugby park cause of him.

Wilson is poor but right now he's doing good enough to warrant his stay.
