I'd like to see Ball play inbetween Kiernan and Wilson in a 3 man defence, means Wallace and Tav haven't got as much defending to do from wing back as they would do from full back, and Kiernan or Wilson can step out with the ball knowing there's still 2 centre halfs behind them . We can't carry on leaving our 2 centre halfs exposed. Teams playing us know if they can keep it tight they WILL get at least 1 good goal scoring chance.

That is why Ball plays cdm, to protect the full backs.
