Bhudda 212
The more our fans dig into the hatchet job at the Record the worse it stinks. It seems as if the "source" that contacted Jane the Bigot Hamilton, was Calum Steele, involved in Police Scotland and seemingly an SNP man, who's made headlines before for lavish expense claims from the Scottish Gov. Given that our statement took a pop at Sturgeon i Wouldn't be surprised if that fabricated article in the Record made the following Journey. Sturgeon > Calum Steele > A Celtic supporting Bigot with a job at the Record > that article. What we need to recognise is that football in this day and age, is unfortunately a game of brands. Bigger your brand, the more fans you attract, the more tickets & merch you sell, the more revenue you generate. It's a long game. But our PR directly relates to how our fans are perceived and treated, and ultimately the players we attract and can afford. If the reason we aren't defending ourselves against this kind of abuse (abuse that is pre-meditated to damage our brand by those who hate us), is that Paul Murray is chummy with the DR, then he needs to be chased out the door for the good of Rangers Football Club and for the safety of our fans. First class work mate but you are way off with the branding bit although I take your point . You see Ibrox stadium will be full to 50,000 with majority being ST holders next season .And it won't depend on playing a hateful ,spiteful little minded club to fill it .Unlike the obsessed . When all said and done .The grand plan was to wipe us off the map .That failed Now their obsession is fuelled by sheer hate that they were unable to do that . Think even they know Glasgow Rangers will always be ,in their sad little existence .A much bigger draw to new players and media outlets like Sky . We can't do anything about the tabloids up here .Just don't buy them . As for PM .Let's just see where the next few months takes us

As for PM .Let's just see where the next few months takes us I'm not talking about established fans, i'm talking about the wider audience. Even Joey Barton's presser shined a light on it. He said he "picked" Celtic because of catholic links in his family or something or another. That's exactly what they want. Theyre all things catholic/irish/celts/spiritual/socialist etc. Point proven too... Barton baught a strip then tweeted to a few million people he bought one. Our rivals from Boston to Thailand are running around painting us as skin head neo nazi's, "klan" etc looking at ill phil's rantings, while peddling themselves to be the sports club equivallent of Mother Theresa to anyone who will listen. Absolute shameless ambulance chasers. Inviting refugees for the sake of publicity and positive column inches (yet employee Leigh refugee-hater Griffiths and won't pay the living wage). Jane Hamilton and the record fit the bill exactly. That article was 1 of many aimed to paint us as thugs etc... "tactics only seen in northern ireland"... everytime bullshit like this is published it chips away at the brand image and our club sit back and allow it. It's bad for business. We should be threatening EVERY single piece of negative PR with some kind of lawsuit or litigation.

Copland bear 7,966
Paul Murray needs to ban the Daily Record or step down. He is either on their side or ours, he can no longer be friends with anyone associated to the Daily Record If they do not ban the Record then maybe Mr Murray can come out and tell us all why? As any Rangers fan I know hate the paper as they make it plain they hate us
