LeeWallaceRFC 3,920
Absolutely ridiculous thread. Why do people look for scapegoats instead of just admitting that we're shite? The 2nd best team in the league, but still shite.

Our ability to cave in after a minor set back is absolutely fuckin amazing. We crumble at the slightest set back. And the vast majority of these fuck ups have been self inflicted. We signed cheap players that are inconsistent, when they are good they are really not bad at all, but they seem to have the ability to be both good and rank rotten in the same game. I'm not going to critique every player but everyone's seen that the bad is outweighing the good this season. We can count the great performances since last Xmas on the fingers of one hand. We need far more than this mythical defensive midfielder I keep reading about. The cup final against the Hivs told us all we need to know about this squad imho. As for Garner .............and he never played in that game. Its ok saying we don't play to his style but he's shown absolutely no composure in front of goal. I don't know where this leads us, you get Warburton telling us that Kieran doesn't know how good he is ? Well get him in the fuckin office and tell him because between him and the goalie last night that was fuckin criminal.
millsygers44 22
Players who aren't playing well should keep their mouths shut annoys me when I read Kiernan talking about the modern centre back and playing out and tackling being a last option ... then you've got Halliday saying this squad doesn't need reinforced come on man
Smile 26,600
He should have been binned after the Cup game as he struggled in the lower divisions he's still struggling now last night we saw how he defends without Hodson protecting him. That's actually a good point, why Hodson was left out last night is a mystery. About using the squad, fuck all, pick the best 11 and play the best players for the positions you want them to play. We have no cohesion in our team, players need to get familiar to the role they are expected to play and the players who play beside them in support. Last night we seen changes that had a detrimental effect on the team, fair play Wallace was injured but other than that the changes were baffling. Turnberry18 3,204
Foderingham gave Kiernan the exact same ball just after they scored last night, and it nearly ended the same way. Playing from the back is fine, passing to a player who is being closed down is not. I'm not Kiernan's biggest fan, but the goalkeeper should be picking his passes better. And another thing, that goal of theirs actually happened from us being in attack, without any of their players touching the ball before the player who scored,

That decision alone was self explanatory, the Waghorn and Hodson one less so, was he wanting to keep them fresh for the weekend game? If so it kinda contradicts his constant rhetoric about only focussing on the game at hand and it being the same 3 points for a win regardless of opposition. He is digging a hole for himself with his decisions.

ab4113 124
Kiernan, was poor but at least he was trying, what about the wee stand in captain haliday, total waste of a space for another player, this wee imposter gets a game every week, and does fuck all, but seems to be a poster boy for some of our fans

Hodson was left out because we tried to play 3-5-2 which meant Tav playing midfield instead of fullback and Mackay covering left fullback when needed. It goes without saying that it did not work very well.

If Warburton comes out and says that then he should rightly be criticized, he won't though, he will give us the usual shite about using the squad. WeirFleckNRothen 1,789
A horrible topic. OP needs to grow-up. We're all adults here; it was a mistake on Kiernan's part, unintentional and unfortunate given his recent form. Attempting to use him as a scapegoat for a split-second error when we had 90+ minutes to rectify it is a kid's view on the game.

MW has been a bit more flexible with the game plans this season than we have been used to seeing , 3-5-2 last night and being more direct to Garner , but we still seem to struggle to adapt to in game situations like when S J changed things last night yet we persevered with a plan that had stopped being effective . Player selection and substitutions are also baffling at times , IMO ,the midfield was crying out for the wee bit of creativity that Forrester offers especially the last 20 mins and he could've replaced any of the central 3 who were contributing very little by that point .
