ALLY McCOIST declared himself happy with tonight's 90 minutes against SV Lippstadt despite the stifling heat in western Germany.

Rangers won the match 4-2 with goals from Filip Sebo, Nacho Novo and a double from Lee McCulloch and Walter Smith also handed a top-team debut to 15 year-old John Fleck.

The Gers assistant boss said: "It was a good 90 minutes for us and the most important thing was that none of our players were injured tonight.

"Our players found it hard in the heat, especially in the first half, but there were many plus points. The goals were shared around the team, Lee got a double on his debut and we got a chance to get Andrew Shinnie and John Fleck on as well.

"So overall it was a good exercise for the boys."

Just what you want in a pre-season or a friendly match.

pretty decent training match even if the quality of the opposition wasnt that high. Would have preferred a clean sheet but then again i dont think any of the defence had played together before other than in training, certainly thats the first time i have seen the defensive line up we had. Some positives from the attack though with sebo finally scoring and mcculloch showing that he might not be quite as bad a player as a lot of people( myself included) thought.
