Warburton this season could have spent money on a couple of real quality players. Instead he wasted money on numbers.

Next season I think we should address the spine of the team not numbers, so bring in a quality centre back, centre mid and striker. Spend 5-6 million in doing so and there should be some improvement.

Therefore, I don't think we should have a massive clearout. Just get rid of shite like Senderos, O'Halloran, Dodoo etc

Agree and in practical terms this is what it will be. Tearing up contracts is expensive (Barton?) - not sure Dodoo is one of the shite ones, though. With Kenny, it will probably come down to brutal economics: he will be on a decent wage & you can probably get a younger player with more future in him for the same price. Defintely should be goodbye to Senderos, O'Halloran and some others though...

Spine of the team is physically weak. We have a good keeper but we are powderpuff in midfield and right that we need a big fucker in defense. A take no prisoners centre half and a commanding CM and a goal scorer

yes. You can see him bringing in his Godson (CB), the Portuguese boy we were linked with because he worked with him in Mexico (sorry, can't remember name) as a functioning mid and then either Weiss or the Hungarian guy from Saudi as the striker. Those buys alone would burst our budget but also (probably) materially improve the team.

Actually I don't think this squad is too far away. I know this season has been dismal but let's cast our mind back to last season's semi-final when we matched them to a man. The only difference this season is Brenda and that they've added a couple of decent players to their squad bringing up the overall standard of their squad.

I think the same would apply to us, if we can add a few decent players then we're on the right path. Let's be honest the 'stars' of their squad arent exactly world class, Sinclair is ripping it up and was relegated from the EPL the year before, Dembele is a prospect and wouldn't get a game in most EPL teams so let's not think we need some world beaters to compete.

If we can add 4-5 players of lower/mid EPL quality then I'm convinced we'll be fighting for 55 next season.

The thing about Miller and Hill's contracts are, how likely is it we're going to get rid of players like Kiernan, Waghorn, Garner etc. If we can get rid of Kiernan and Senderos, I'm happy to keep Hill and if we can get rid of 2 of Waghorn/Garner/Dodoo then I'm happy to keep Miller.

Imo, we need at least 3 new starting defenders, 2 new CMs, a RW and 2 strikers. Are we going to sign that many players AGAIN? I don't know

I'd quite like to be linked with someone I don't have to Google for once.

Is there any truth in that Weiss rumour do you know? Boy at my work said he's said he wants to come. And any idea how he's got on since he left us? Is he still a good wee player or what? Can't have gone too well for him if he's ended up in the middle east

Far less others, but Halliday one of the top earners on £638k? Some cunt needs sectioned!

Id like to make wholesale changes , but the reality is , unless DK opens his wallet that won't happen .

Of those here , I think Wes and Barrie McKay are worth a start for our new manager . The sad thing is , I think if we are to make the kind of money available to make big changes , then those two are the ones that will probably finance it . Outside of that I'd keep the likes of Holt , Wallace and Miller ( even at that age ) . As squad members , Tavernier , Waghorn , Wilson and I'd like to see Forrester , Dodoo and O'Hallaran given a run to see what they can do .

Actually think the board are as up for scrutiny here as much as the playing squad . The onus is very much on them right now to see what the future holds for us all .

McKay, Wes, Tavernier (when he shows up)

I still think Windass has a bit about him and would like to see more.

If Rossiter ever gets fit again then him.

Garner I'd keep but get a better forward to play beside him.

And push the boat out to get Hyndman for another season.

No idea if it's true but I'm sure he wants to come. Has scored twice in World Cup Qualifiers for Slovakia recently so he's still got it. He is in the middle East because he is on US$40,000 a week tax free - end of. Their league is shite and he will be desperate to come. Same with the god-son and Kristian Nemeth, their Number 9, who has played for Hungary full international side and I think was once on the books at an EPL team. If I were Pedro I would say to them; "Listen boys. I was on two million a year and I more than halved my wages to make the step up and get a shop window. Do the same.' He also knows good guys from Mexico and FC Tigres (for instance) are a stick-on to win the North and Central American Champions League.
