SCUNTHORPE UNITED boss Graham Alexander has revealed he’s going to up his efforts to land Rangers midfielder Matt Crooks again.

The former Accrington Stanley player was sent on loan to Scunthorpe in English League One by former boss Mark Warburton in a bid to get him game time.

Matt Crooks has enjoyed a successful loan stint at the League One club

Crooks had failed to make an impact at Ibrox after an ankle injury kept him out for a large chunk of the season.

He was praised by Scunthorpe boss Graham Alexander during his loan spell.

But he picked up a knee knock against Bolton Wanderers in April and returned to Ibrox.

However, former Scotland defender Alexander is still hoping to sign Crooks again either on loan or on a permanent deal.

He said: “We’ve spoken with Rangers to try and find out Matt Crooks’ situation.

“It’s a bit difficult at the moment as he’s still injured from his time with us so we are waiting on information coming back from them on what his situation is.

“They obviously have got a new manager who hasn’t seen him play so there is a little bit of a waiting game going on with us to see what they want to do with him.”

Probably best to turn a profit on him, he's not going to get into the team ahead of Rossiter/Niko let alone Pena/Jack and whoever else arrives. We paid what, 60k for him...punt him for 250k if they rate him so highly and want him for the championship. Win win.

Ten hundred thousand dembele pence and they can have him.

Ten hundred thousand demeble dollars pictured below currently exchanges for about tree fiddy. The dollars can be used to fuel log burning fires at a cheaper rate than regular logs.

Make sure we get a fucking fee, the days of just giving players away should be done!

Completely agree. Even going back a good few years, the amount of times we'd pay up a players contract or "mutually terminate" it, only for said player to sign for another club days later...was a total joke. Should be a case of pay up or the players part of the squad.

Be interested to see how much we could get for him.

Honestly mate, if he's that highly rated by Alexander and they reckon he's good enough for the championship then 250k is fair. He's young, still got a while left on his contract. 250k minimum
