Wee Bud

Yep, wee bud broke into the first team around 1965 as an out and out left winger. Played in the 1966 cup final and it was his cross that resulted in Kai Johansen's winner. Think he was only 18-19 yrs old at that point. Playing off a main striker was his best position though - scored so many vital goals for us. Only negative was Jock Stein had a knack of nullifying wee Bud in old firm games

Why is every time I see a thread title with just a Legends name I fear they have died.

Cause you are such a cheery cunt who lives life with such high levels of optimism.  :tu:

As for the OP, the quintessential Rangers team in the quintessential Rangers strip.

Wee Bud was in Las Vegas last week at the convention. I had a wee chat with him & photos etc. He was in great form & seemed to be having a good time. Bumped into him again on the strip a couple of days later.

He was a brilliant player for us , he really was. When he left us for West Brom , who were a fantastic team back then , he got even better in my opinion.  All the bigger English teams were always linked with buying him & I think it was juventus who were tracking him at one stage.

Great player & a Rangers legend in my opinion.
