I expect the team to give 100% every time they take to the field to show their ability and battle for every ball for 90+ mins in each and every game no matter the opposition .... that's all you can ask of the players ... the manager will need to get the tactics and instructions right. That combination and we won't be far off having a good season. We have 10x the budget , facilities and support more than any other club in the country bar the taigs. To still be in contention for the tittle heading into the split will be the main aim European progress  and a trophy will be just a bonus ..... Winning the title is the be all and end all for us atm imo.

Treble and at least the quarter final of the Europa league.

This

Too many surrender monkeys in this thread, how do ppl know we won't do anything in Europe? Some crystal ball u ppl have, having not seen a ball kicked.

I expect us to win every single game we play at Ibrox.

We are Rangers.

Were spending the money to challenge. We'll spend close to £10 million this season and for what? To get within single points of the tarriers? Get a grip, were out to win the league and if there's no cups or Europa group stages then he needs to win the league.

Fuck putting a successful season down to finishing second behind them. Some of our fans are starting to believe the pish the record came out with this week, basically claiming we should be quite content to play second fiddle to that mob because their the best team ever to grace football.

Strong 2nd and within touching distance of them (max of 10 points behind)

Europe..not to get a pumping and kill the buzz the fans have just now, Limassol will give us a right tough game, if we get past them some of the teams in the 3rd round are frightening with what we have just now

Good cup runs...should at least be making Semi finals in both.

Anything less than winning the league is a failure and something we cannot accept, if we do we ain't Rangers anymore. Cup competitions I don't care about, a bonus if we do win any of them. But we cannot ever accept being 2nd to the unwashed, regardless of what happened last season. Fully expect Pedro to deliver the goods!

No its not. When was the last time we spent £10 million and thought aye second place will be successful, the majority should be happy with that. Never.

We've not spent 10 million.

And the last time we did it made our squad more valuable than any other in Scotland. This current spend doesn't.

You then throw in the  difficulties that our assembled squad of 8/9/10 new players have in gelling together. Under a new manager. Whilst we potentially still have to accommodate some underperformers from last year.

Against a settled bheast squad who still have all bar one of their players, and who have shown excellent consistency and application domestically. A squad also full of internationals.

But without a competitive ball being kicked (we'll ignore for now mediocre pre season) you're pretty much stipulating Pedro must win the league.

If you ignore the "we're Rangers" rhetoric then common sense and logic suggests this is a build and at least 2 or 3 transfer windows and investment over that time frame will be required to get rid of more dross and bring in better players that will give us a squad not a team that can compete. And that competition will be needed to do just that to accommodate bans, injuries and form issues.

Dumb. Even our best ever teams need to do that sometimes.

It's not dumb alough I could have elaborated more. We need to be more clinical and change the possession we had last year into goals so we are not relying on late winners having gone behind to a defensive mistake after having 70% possession and about 20 shots. Fine going somewhere away from home and other team has 11 behind the ball and it takes us 80/85 minutes to break them down.

The league ?

and once we hammer this mob on Thursday 4-0, a lot of you will be changing your predictions.

We are playing a team that has played 12 times in Europe conceding 40 goals with one of their best results a draw with Glenttoran. I fully expect us to score a good few goals.

We will spend around £10 million. We've spent £7 million so far with Dorrans and Walker hopefully coming in you're looking at over £9 million easily.

So you presumably bought your season ticket on the basis that second place is fine?

Their season will never happen again. Everything went for them, as teams in Europe like the Red imps have shown they aren't as good as you or others think they are.

You're writing us off before a ball has been kicked, you don't know how cellic will do this season.

Yes he must win the league, like I said if he fails to win the other two trophies or get to the Europa group stages. Not winning a trophy and getting put out of Europe in July is a joke of a season, especially when you consider money spent.

With the right mentality the Old Firm's take care of themselves.

I want us to be consistent against the rest. Picking up more points on the road and managing to win matches that we would have drawn last year.

No more of this shiting ourselves from Tynecastle and the likes.

We need a solid season which we can use as a platform for the next. In an ideal world too, only being in a position to strengthen with 3 or 4 good players.

Win the league, league cup, Scottish cup, Champions League, Europa League and Great British Bake Off without losing a goal.

You're a fucking idiot.

We'll definitely not keep a clean sheet in the bake off.
