Things to take from todays game

1. We are nowhere near as bad as some would have us believe. We were playing a team flush with money and consisting of several £10-£20 million pound players. We were every bit as good.

2. We have the best centre back and best centre mid in scotland in Bruno Alves and Niko Kranjcar. Alves was excellent alongside cardoso, he read the game brilliantly, won everything in the air and his passing was spot on. Niko never broke out of a jog but played several 40+ yard passes without even looking up. He tied a couple of marseille players in knots and scored a screamer. People slate him because hes slow-newsflash...hes always been slow but hes the best in scotland by a mile in terms of technical ability.

3. Our support need to stop overreacting. Aye the europa result was a nightmare, if we lift the league title next May then it will be a distant irrelevance.

early days, but if this is an indication of how we're going to improve, we just might be 3 players off actually having a decent squad.

I still think we need another wide man and two at the back.

That's the first time in a long time I've seen wallace snap into a tackle against someone attacking. They were in a dangerous position and he attacked the ball and won it cleanly.

That's his job to be fair, he better up the anti or he will be history, surprised he's still club captain.

Didn't even know he was playing to be honest mate. :mutley:

Neither, thought Tavernier looked fantastic in his defensive duties. Alves could maybe be credited as his influence on the pitch must be far more ideal than what the defence is used to.
