We wanted Le Revolution - don't complain now

Recommended Posts

i have had serious doubts about Le Guen.

I could not see what actions he has taken to improve the team or to re-structure the club.

I wanted desperately to see something to convince me that he at least cared.

Today's action is a monumental step forward in my opinion.

Ferguson is without doubt our best player - no ifs or buts - we are a pale excuse for a team without him

BUT he is NOT irreplaceable.

If this is Mister Le Guen now embarking on his rev olution I will be delighted.

I don't care about building a team for Scottish Football, the Scottish Football system is rotten to the core, it is amateurish, it is outdated , it is ineffective.

If Mister Le Guen is now embarking on a radical revolution of how we prepare for and play the game then there will be casualties on the way.

Scottish football is perhaps the most reluctant of all of our sports in Scotland to move into the twentieth century. That is why we see the same old faces all the time.

Players and coaches subscribe to old fashioned methods, we make progress slowly.

That does not mean that different methods are better, but by heck I want to see something different to move our club forward into a European dimension.

The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result

I suspect that we are now about to embark on an experiment

I would rather try something new and fail than do the same old things over and over and remain mediocre.

If this is indeed to be the revolution then I say Viva Le Revolution

Ever since Eck took over we have been in a periofd of transition.

McLeish was the right manager at the right time to take us through the mnostr severe period of finanxcial cutbacks in our history.

He was always ghoing to be a stop gap repleacement to take us through a period of financial restraINT.

He did better than expected and won trophies whilst reducing the financial imbalance.

He was rewarded by being allowed to continue.

There was always going to be a next step after we got back on the financial rails.

PLG was clearly that next step.

He was brought in and agreed to come on the back of a 'new way'.

We have seen little evidence of that new way so far, perhaps he simply wanted the chance to work with what he had top determine the extent of the revolution.

It is now mid-season, he knows now who he can work with and who he cannot.

]

He clearly has the unmitigated support of Sir david - he c ould not make such a decision as todays without that.

Le Guen has absolute control over what we are doing from here on in. I have no doubt of that whatsoever.

Tinkering about the dges - pressley etc. are no longer options for us. This is not about moulding changes it is about scrapping what existed and starting with a new page.

I believe the actions today signal that.

If it is not so, this club will allow Celtic to deliver ten in a row. This experiment MUST NOT fail.

have had serious doubts about Le Guen?.

Surely they must have got worse by now?

?I could not see what actions he has taken to improve the team or to re-structure the club?.

He`s wasted 6 month and 4 million and see little action which has improved our team

?I wanted desperately to see something to convince me that he at least cared?.

I think you?ll have along wait

?Today's action is a monumental step forward in my opinion?.

Sorry wrong direction team currently in reverse see your own comments about Ferguson below

?Ferguson is without doubt our best player - no ifs or buts - we are a pale excuse for a team without him?

If we can see it why can`t PLG not see it

?BUT he is NOT irreplaceable?.

How much to replace him and with what?.the man is currently the heart of our team why ripe out your heart

?If this is Mister Le Guen now embarking on his revolution I will be delighted.

This is not a revolution this is suicide and he`s taking us with him?

?I don't care about building a team for Scottish Football, the Scottish Football system is rotten to the core, it is amateurish, it is outdated , it is ineffective?.

How then do you propose we qualify for the champions league? find another league? and if it`s that bad why are we not doing better

?If Mister Le Guen is now embarking on a radical revolution of how we prepare for and play the game then there will be casualties on the way?.

The only casualty will be RFC if we continues to get horsed in the SPL you have got beat the teams here first and beat there style of play instead of making it a non contact sport

?Scottish football is perhaps the most reluctant of all of our sports in Scotland to move into the twentieth century. That is why we see the same old faces all the time?.

We`ve only asked him to improve Rangers which he`s making an ass of not the hole of Scottish football . You write of new faces but the new faces PLG has brought to Ibrox has hardly enhanced PLG reputation at a top class coach

?Players and coaches subscribe to old fashioned methods, we make progress slowly?.

Agree about progress but this teams going backwards not forward and how many Scots are involved with the fist team at present

?That does not mean that different methods are better, but by heck I want to see something different to move our club forward into a European dimension?.

If you don`t do well enought at home we wont require a European dimension or anythig else. It`s the SPL which is our bread and butter and PLG has failed to address. Was his first word not about getting back the League Flag don`t think European dimension was even mentioned

?The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result?

PLG not only makes the same mistakes but some how manages to compound them

How long has he been telling us he knows what the problem is well maybe he`s the problem and he afraid to tell us

?I suspect that we are now about to embark on an experiment?

You don`t experiment with Big teams like Rangers you us tried and tested methods.

Experiment is for young managers in the lower league

?I would rather try something new and fail than do the same old things over and over and remain mediocre?.

Failure is not an option at Ibrox under PLG we are not even mediocre that would be a step up at present

?If this is indeed to be the revolution then I say Viva Le Revolution?

Viva Le Revolution, but I know how`s head I would like to see in the basket right now

Good to see your such an optimist and kept the faith, but on this occasion the glass IS half empty

Good post Calif. dreamin'.

Alba is excited about a decisive form of action taking place, but just ignores the many possible results and seems to be ok with any result as long as action of some sort is taken.

excellent response and well argued.

Let me be clear:

I was delighted to see Le Guen appointed

He came with a good reputation - he appeared to be thoughtfiul and insightful

He talked about respect and tradition - so important for a rangers manager

He suggested a modern approach to training and play

Being involved in high performance sport I was excited by this

I have been hugely disappointed by his performance thius season.

As I said I see little evidence of progress in our playing style

I see little evidence of improvement in our fitness

I see little evidence of tactical adjustments during the game

On Saturday against St Mirren I had aalmost given up on him when he made only 1 substitution and sat pretty much throughout the second half.

So for me to see him at least make a decision on how to change the team, and a decision of such a dramatic nature, suggested to me that there was indeed a 'bigger picture'.

It appears that I, and indeed all of us, may have overestimated the extent of that decision yesterday.

It appears that it was simply a one -off that Barry has made bigger.

I still say we need a revolution to counteract the outdated ways of Scottish Football.
