Lost in the penalty shootout with Frank de Boers penalty hitting the post. First Scotland game was the following year, a 1nil defeat against Belarus. Always amazes me there was never a fatal accident at Hampden with those crowds, the terracing and passageways made from ash and old railway sleepers were a disgrace.
