Now imagine we had a player in the park that would work and contribute like that more than once a game in Miller's place? Crazy, I know!

Two ways to look at it. Morelos being woefully off form in-front of goal, Herrera being poor, Miller tending to influence the odd game and Windass on a decent run of form. Murty had to pick two and based on form he'd go with Miller and Windass.

Alternatively, you could look at it as Miller being a brutal player these days, yet having almost managerial office style influence to still get a game.

When he's good, he brings us out a hole, when he's bad, we wish he'd leave.

Need Morelos to step-up and make it impossible for Murty to leave Miller out.

Does Bruno Alves have the same power/influence at Rangers as Miller? I really doubt it

Probably not but it’s still a big decision to leave your highest earner and a near 100 times capped Portugal international out in favour of a kid who’s played about ten games.

Miller was utterly shocking today. Everyone in the stadium could see the negative impact he has on the team. If "Murts" doesn't have the cojones to sub him before 88 minutes or better still, drop him altogether, he'l have no future managing at any level.

Ffs Murty delivers 3 wins in a row - hooks Penna at half time - turn a loss into a win and folk still finding pish to Moan about

Maybe its a bit of a case of damned if he does (drop him) and damned if he doesn't.     Murty is the interim manager until at least the end of the year and while he is in a strong position in terms of being virtually blameless regardless of how it turns out in these games since he is the guy who is answering the call in very difficult circumstances while a DOF and board fiddle about playing elaborate recruitment games.   So on balance at present maybe he is playing safe by playing Miller and hoping that despite other failings he has the experience and nous to snatch a vital goal or create a vital goal.    And if he gets the manager job full time then is the time to start making bolder decisions about using him less in a starting line up.    He maybe feels there is more to be gained in this interim management period by persisting with Miller than by dropping him.

Is Miller not out of contract next summer?   If so then is he not free to sign a pre-contract agreement under a month from now?   Put another way Murty, doubtless under the guiding influence of the invisible DOF, may yet have the decision to make about whether to indicate to Miller that he might get yet another contract from Rangers, or to tell him he is free to look for another club.

During this interim management period I can't see Murty dropping Miller as he may feel he needs Miller's experience on the pitch even if he is not getting goals and even if his contribution looks less than the value we'd all like to see.

There was two or three times we created chances from Miller stealing the ball back from bad touches or a tackle.

Judge him on his actual performance rather than how you feel about him.

Right Laura you have been told b4 get off the forums

Pena and Miller were both horrendous.

No surprise when it was only Pena that was hooked, when it should have been both.

Not sure if you were at the game, but we were absolutely awful right through the side. Fortunate to avoid disaster today. Can acknowledge we got a result, but highlight the many negatives.

Agree wi all you say but i’m just happy that even though we had 4/5/6 poor performances wi came away with the 3 points.

Yeh, I’m delighted with the 3 points. Said to my brother after a couple of minutes that we’d drop points, really lacked intensity and purpose.

Whole team was shite, but ground it out.

Delighted to see Morelos back on the scoresheet.

Oh fuck off. You think that was a performance that doesn't merit criticism? Great result because it finally got us over the 3 wins in a row bogey, but how far have we fallen that 3 in a row becomes an aim for Rangers.

You must have low low expectations to see today over 90 mins  as an acceptable performance.

Morelos is our best player.

Should start every game.

Thought he was better than most today although that was not difficult. At least he showed urgency, movement and pressure. It was difficult for the forwards today with the pedestrian show from the back and midfield and the continual back and side passes despite the runs Pena and Windass were making and were just ignored.

The first half was like watching an out of form Warburton team. and it took half time before any urgency managed to filter through to most.

Jesus christ what the actual fuck is this? We won both games against the sheep convincingly and he did play against Hamilton and Dundee.

Instead of...... It's a simple concept? Morelos hasn't had decent support in months now.

What part of done better is difficult to understand? We should always be looking to improve. We won today, look to improve. Beat the taigs, look to improve. Win 5 nil, why was it not 10..etc.

By all accounts we've won the last 3 games. Any manager not analysing and dealing with where we could have done better is failing us.  That's their job.

That's what the actual fuck this is.

Miller pissed me off with his stroppy dramatics. A bad pass can be played to him and instead of staying focused and trying to convert it, he looks down or away, shuts his eyes, and flings his hands down toward the ground. Meanwhile if he wasnt such a fuckin bitch he could win a few of them or pick up on the oppenents bad first touch etc.

Because he suddenly became some magician of a football player when we lost most of our actual decent players.
