If Steven was prepared to talk to clubs in England he would undoubtedly spark a competition for his services which would be mutually beneficial for him and the club. However, I'd like him to stay with Killie for at least another season. I honestly believe that would be in his best interests too.Meantime, it's business as usual as we prepare for the new season with our friendly at Dundee tomorrow.' vandelay 0 Posted July 23, 2007 Share Posted July 23, 2007 Although I don't know the full facts I have been very unimpressed with Kilmarnock over this whole affair, running to the media at any opportunity, talk of a reasonable bid being made only for the asking price to go up and generally spinning the story in their favour in the hope another club with some £££ will come in. I get the feeling Smith is getting tired over Killie's antics too and cooling his interest for now. While it'll be a shame to not get someone of Naismiths potential quality, Smith's too much of a professional to get drawn into Killie's silly games. Hes left barca now so hes available on a free. They can have him anyway, 31 yr old striker who has a pish record. His "best" years were at athletic bilbao where he scored 45 times in 222 games. Pathetic for a striker. Kilmarnock chairman is a tosser.
