I really pay attention to him as I just don't think he's as good as folk reckon. Continually pulled out of position last night, not great in air, doesn't command his box at set plays. Not overly poor, but shaky yes I'd agree. I actually think Martin at times is a fair bit more accomplished than Bates but his mistakes are costing goals whereas Bates has got away with a few. Can't keep playing a CH who costs goals and whilst I'm not convinced by Bates I feel Martin deserves to be dropped to demonstrate there are consequences of poor play that cost us goals.
