Another reason not to support that fenian national team (if any sane-minded Rangers fan needed one) is they've called up that wee thug Ryan Porteous. How could any cunt cheer that on.

Can only speak for myself but I'll be disappointed if Scotland go through.

That’s his reward for not punching any tarriers at the weekend

From the Record:

"Kilmarnock stars have been left stunned after their first-team was locked down for two weeks - to control their coronavirus outbreak.

The Rugby Park outfit held discussions with Ayrshire and Arran Health Board on Friday and Joint Response Group officials after six first-team players had tested positive.

It was decided on medical advice all of Alex Dyer’s squad should now self-isolate for the next fortnight.

The players and coaching staff were informed of the bombshell news this morning.

It now leaves the Scottish Professional Football League with a major headache.

Kilmarnock are due to play Motherwell in the league on Friday night and then have Betfred Cup games with Falkirk and Dunfermline during the two-week self-isolation period.

They now have to decide whether to postpone the fixtures or force Kilmarnock to play an under-age side.

Kilmarnock vs Motherwell set to be OFF as Ayrshire club hit with coronavirus outbreak

SPFL chiefs are due to meet this afternoon to make a decision on that front.

The problem SPFL chiefs have is there is very little room left for additional games in the current calendar.

The league did cancel celtic and Aberdeen’s fixtures after some of their players broke COVID-19 procedure but last month St Mirren weren’t allowed to call off and had to bring in Zdenek Zlamal on-loan Hearts because of an outbreak amongst their goalkeepers.

The Rugby Park squad has been told that even those who had returned negative tests have to self-isolate for two weeks from Thursday."

SPFL and SFA's Joint Response Group:

"The Joint Response Group has received further information on the situation at Kilmarnock FC based on a meeting this morning led by NHS Ayrshire and Arran Public Health, and including representatives from the club, Scottish Government, Public Health Scotland and the Scottish FA.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Test and Protect Team carried out COVID-19 contact tracing following the six confirmed positive tests at the club.

As a result, the club has been advised by the local Problem Assessment Group that the whole playing squad should self-isolate for a 14-day period. This is in order to minimise the risk of further cases in the staff group and wider local community and to support Test and Protect.

The SPFL Board are meeting this afternoon to discuss the implications for Kilmarnock’s fixtures within that period and will issue a statement thereafter."

Killie have two cup games in that period.

No time to reschedule them either. Youth team or 3-0 default?

You can't punish a team for this if they've complied with the guidance.

This could easily happen to us, and I would be raging at any decision other than postponement.

Forcing a team to play youths for circumstances outside their control (remember nearly everyone is fit and able to play, its third party rules preventing them) undermines the sporting integrity.

Probably use the killie situation to pause Scottish football and put that old firm game on hold

My suspicious mind today had the theory that if the papes were to announce they had positive tests 3 days prior to the game they could get the game postponed 😅😅

Don’t doubt it mate, gutting that there’s an international break before this. Now there’s time to mull it over and for the authorities to come up with some excuse not to play it, but the main reason I’m obviously gutted is due to the standards we’re setting right now, hitting some really good form

They are genuinely terrified to take us on in an empty stadium....no crowd to influence refs or fuck all👍

meant to be a tarrier, but along with shankland we need to be snapping this boys up, both bosmans or small comp, then loaning out or if they impress intraining show them a path, nisbet will go onto the tarriers i bet.

Shankland is defo one of us, be interesting to see how both of them do this season in the top flight, though Nisbet is 2 years younger and looks to be a better prospect so far imo.

Scottish Challenge Cup competition scrapped for this season
By Andy McGilvray

2 OCT 2020

-------------------

Scottish Professional Football League clubs have been told the Challenge Cup will not go ahead this season.

A consultation process involving all of the clubs decided that the competition should be scrapped, with 34 agreeing, because of the continuing absence of fans in stadia.

The final of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup from season 2019/20 remains to be played between Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC and Raith Rovers FC and will be scheduled for a date later this season.

A spokesman for the SPFL said: “This is a sad day for a competition that has been an established and much-loved part of the footballing landscape since its inception to commemorate the centenary of the Scottish Football League in 1990.

“It is extremely concerning that so many clubs felt that they could not afford to participate in the Challenge Cup this season, given the continuing restrictions on fans coming to matches. “Fans remain the lifeblood of the game in Scotland. "Today’s decision to cancel the Challenge Cup this season is a further demonstration of the urgent need to get fans back into stadia safely, as they are in other countries.
