Ritual humiliation this stage of year for the other teams. Don't care about them individually but the collective fucking up the coefficient continually makes things an uphill battle for us. The thing that makes no sense is that the type of teams that beat the other Scottish European representatives play our lower league/ colts teams in the challenge cup year on year and never actually win it.

Motherwell colts beat Sligo 2-0 only 3 or 4 years ago, an absolute embarrassment of a result but it shows up our league for the state of it outside the top 3, motherwell have won 3 games since boxing day and still got 1 of the european spots.

Basses still took 4 points off us though.
contributed to us fucking it last season.

Infuriating to think that we were 1-0 and 2-0 up at home to them and ended up dropping 4 points

We should have been out of sight by half time on both occasions and that was one of the crucial flaws last season, not being clinical enough in front of goal

Standard of our league is absolutely hoatching now, a few years ago the standard of the top 3/4 in the championship could compete with our bottom 6 but it’s even worse now eg Arbroath.  Something needs done but buggered if I know what.

To be fair, a club like Motherwell should be going through against Sligo, it’s an absolute riddy. How did we drop points at home to this pile of shite!?

These results happen every now & then, Sligo are into their season and played a game Motherwell couldn’t handle/weren’t ready for them.
We’ve had our fair share of shockers over the years in the qualifying rounds, they are absolute nightmare games to play.

Mate I get that, but Motherwell are representing us in Europe having won a handful of games since Xmas, that’s horrendous.

Graham Alexander has fucked off from Motherwell

quote from their website so you don't need to give clicks to them or some shitty news page:

"We have today parted company with manager Graham Alexander by mutual consent.

Graham will leave the club along with his assistant Chris Lucketti.

“Graham asked to speak with us early on Friday morning, and everyone agreed that it would be best to make a change,” chairman Jim McMahon said.

“We asked Graham to reverse our fortunes when he arrived eighteen months ago and he did that, before a really solid start to his first full season at Fir Park laid the foundations for what ultimately led to a fifth place finish and European football.

“However, things haven’t gone as well for a spell in 2022 and although the timing is not ideal, we hope a change will bring about fresh impetus for everyone ahead of the 2022/23 season.

“I would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Graham and Chris for all their hard work and effort and wish them every success in their future careers.”

Graham added: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Motherwell and leave with nothing but good wishes for the club in the future.

“I’m proud that we came in with the club joint bottom of the Premiership, and 18 months later leave having first secured our Premiership status, then qualified for Europe in our first full season. Our points tally in that time is only behind Rangers & celtic.

“I also want to thank everyone who has worked so hard alongside us, and for the support I have received from Alan Burrows, Jim McMahon and the board of directors. It has been a pleasure to represent Motherwell Football Club.”

The fuck does this say about the rest of the teams in the league, utter embarrassment.

How is it separated when the tims benefit from our having raised the national coefficient?

I meant ours is built on our own and is not increased or decreased by the Scotland national coefficient. I don’t know how you would determine the latter without considering the results of the teams competing in Europe. Fact is  we knew the rules and we fucked it. Fucked it twice in fact; to Malmo and then in the league. But because of our strength of coefficient  we are going in at the third qualifying round instead of the second as septic did last year, so there’s that.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure we’re up a round because Russian teams are banned.

I think you are correct, but we wouldn’t have been 11th and in the right place at the right time without our coefficient, when there are only two teams in Scotland who contribute to the country coefficient, one of whom hasn’t won a European knock out round tie in 18 years.

Quite simply the national team's coefficient should be based on national team results.  Individual team coefficient should be based on each team's Euro results.   No team's coefficient should be based on any other factor than their own results.   I never mentioned Malmo or failing to win the league last season.   Those two occurrences have nothing to do with my point.   Of course we know the rules which is why I said there should be change.   Why should the tims or any other team benefit from our results?

You can bet your last penny this lot will not be embarrassed if they get pumped in 6 matches this season or any other season they're in the CL.
Willing to bet they will not keep their best team for the groups.
