Blue balloons for a bairn

One of my punters told me about a Dumfries Bear who has an 8 month old kid who fell ill on Tuesday and won’t make it , the family are donating the kids organs to help other families in their hour of need, the Dad who attends games and is a season ticket holder has asked if it would be possible for us all who are going on Sunday to take blue balloons with them and let them go before the match as the teams come out in memory of their wee boy.

Until you’ve got kids yourself you never know how life-ending it must feel for anybody to lose a kid

i really hope this works out as planned, it might give the father watching a little bit of solidarity knowing he has the backing of the Rangers family thinking about him 

I know it’s not an isolated incident, there are good bears going through this kinda stuff all the time but Glasgow Rangers means more than a football club to us all an it would be a message to all good bears struggling that they are “one of our own” WATP!

I wouldn't even know how or what to say to someone who is going through this, it's a great shame to happen to anybody. 

Hopefully word gets out one way or another and there wish is granted, it's only a small thing they are asking and maybe they could cherish that in years to come, just knowing our support has helped with a simple thing like a blue balloon maybe give them a wee bit of strength to pull together.

Every parents worst nightmare, thoughts are with the family. 

Also tend to agree that leaving this until the next home game would’ve been a better idea, let the bigger Rangers family show their support for the family.

Terribly sad story and would love to see the balloons request happening, but like others have said it is not the best game for this to work. 

The next home game would certainly be the time to make it work best. 

EDIT: While I still stink the first home game would be best, if the family want to go ahead with Sunday I hope we can get as many as possible to take blue balloons and make their request happen.

The wee guy was from near me, know his dad vaguely as he goes on a different bus to me but know the family are massive bears. Such a shame for them. Rest easy wee man.

Just seen on Twitter about a Supporters child who is close to passing away . The guy has asked if everyone could do him a favour and light up his child face by releasing blue balloons at kick off.

Biggest issue is how you "release" ballons blown up by you, unlike helium filled ballons, these won't rise up, as I imagine that's the plan, but rather just fall to the ground

Would be nice to see, cheer the wee one up, however I couldn't stand the sight of leggo standing on and bursting the said balloons to prove how much of a hard man he is, better at next home game.

Heartbreaking. Looks like a happy bright wee boy. This truly is tragic. My heart goes out to the family and I will most certainly be taking my blue balloons to hampden on Sunday.

I unfortunately won't be there, but anyone who is going. I urge you all to do this. Its not difficult, its not expensive and it will make the family feel a bit better for a couple of minutes knowing the Rangers family have their back. Get this posted on the other forums too.

Hopefully they will be helium so the fucker doesn't have a chance. Should attach wee msg's to them and see how far replies come from too.
