Hahaha, fuck that's rite, forgot about the fence, I'm laughing I know but just think how bad things went down south, I remember him threatening to turn it on, they called it the English Disease but it was happening all over, eighties in Scotland as well there was a fair few things going on, so the press up here couldn't stand all high and mighty about it.

I was part of it up here then and it was wild at times but Chelsea millwall west ham were mental .

I’d been at the Aberdeen game at Easter, which was the first time I’d been back to Ibrox after the rebuild & been impressed with how great it was.

My old man was a Bradford City fan, who’d been there the previous time they’d got promoted & it seemed like a good idea to go.

My first thought as we entered the ‘main’ stand was ‘what a tip - what would happen if something went wrong in here?’

Answer came all too quickly.....

is it true the fire was so bad because there was years worth of rubbish piled under the stand?

Yeah I knew a lot of what went on because of people I knew, loved the clothes and fashion and still wear a lot if it now, got a lot of books to do with it as well. I'm still adamant that I was going to find the old Benetton Blue and White Rugby top that fits me. No chance now, ?

Yeah they had said that it was full of rubbish underneath and that's why it went up, I believe that was the same as the King's Cross fire under the esculators, build up off rubbish and was just like dry tinder ready to go.

Yeah I loved mine, found one on eBay but far too small, I asked in The Bennetton shop over Silverburn if they were ever going to release them again and she said No, they would never fit me anyway now as there sizing is Italian and way too small.

We played Chelsea at Ibrox the following year, if I remember right it was at this time of year and was definitely a Friday night. Sat in the main stand that night with Sandy Clark. Again if my memory serves me right we won 3-2.

Found these, my dad said I went with my uncle, honestly can't remember,

Yes, mate, along with the stand having a lot of wood about the place.

It had the air of a rickety old cricket pavilion about it, if you know what I mean.
