Should we get a ticket price reduction because of.....

Recommended Posts

With the tims only getting a token number of tickets for Ibrox, Police and steward requirements inside the ground should be drastically reduced, and therefore cost to the club reduced likewise.

With this in mind, then why can't the club reduce the ticket price accordingly?

We are told that the £49 old firm cost is due to the need for increased stewarding and policing, so with a huge reduction in those, the price should surely go down likewise?

And - how can Hampden do an old firm game for £24, yet we are double that?

Don’t think there’s really a need to reduce the season ticket price, personally feel the ticket prices are fair!

The ticket price for the semi final has nothing to do with how much Hampden can do it at, it’s purely because they have to set the price the same for both semi’s & could never get away with charging big prices for two run of the mill spl clubs!

Hampden the games for £24 because the other semi game has to have the same price and not many people are paying £49 to see aberdeen v motherwell.

The cost is still only going to be tens of thousands cheaper, so about 70p off a ticket isn't worth bothering about.

Why would you want to give less money to the club?

100% both of these answers

The 70p and £1.50 figures mentioned are just daft. Am thinking there should be at least £10 and possibly £15 reduction in costs in reality.

They aren’t daft.

“For three matches in the past two years Rangers spent £206,796.00 on officers within Ibrox.”

Works out at an average of £68,932 cost to the club per game. Normal games I’m sure are about £30/35k. OF even with reduced policing would still be around £45/50k.

You want to take £10/15 off 50,000 tickets costing the club £500/750k against saving about £15/20k in policing costs.

£10 to 40 thousand season ticket holders is 400k it’s nowhere near that to Police 2 Old Firm games

I wouldn't pay £4.90 for the sheep vs the rusty steel men never mind £49.

Also willing to bet that sturgeon's yestapo will still charge Rangers the same price for policing a taig visit.

frankly im surprised that OF are still only £49, with the demand for them the clubs could probably charge £70 and still sell out

Some folk seem to think Rangers owe them something or are that the Clubs just going to throw money away for the fans sake, Rangers is a football club and a football club these days is a business first and foremost. The club arent going to reduce price because some money has been saved thats not how sucessful businesses operate.

We are fans but were mostly just customers, statistics, if someone is unhappy with pricing and choses not to renew or buy a ticket then there is someone behind them in line to take their place at a higher price.

And im not trying to have a dig at the Club or anything. Its just the way things are these days. The Club could charge more for tickets and sell them im just greatful were not paying the prices that Arsenal and some of the big English clubs charge.

The police are there to keep us in check OP,  don’t you know the greatest fans in the world never misbehave and everything is just the craic so it is.

there will be more police needed to protect the sellik fans from hordes of hateful bigots since theyll be so outnumbered now. We're certain to cause trouble and start launching bricks at them from the higher tiers of the broomloan :pipe:

thing is im in BF5 so will probably still get moved i reckon, the segregation will be ridiculous theyll get the corner but theyll probably close a whole section on each side or something OTT like that

Putting the tarriers in the corner is good enough for me, I’d rather put them in the top corner of the club deck so nobody can see the fuckers on tv but never possible so the away corner will do

if the club can cater to this which a majority of fans want an save thereselves a few bob in the process then everybody’s a winner if you can’t afford or justify £49 then don’t go an somebody else will fill your seats

They more than likely will, as no doubt they will still feel the need to police it in the same way with the same numbers as before, and to be honest the fact that we will have both sets of supporters going into the ground through the same stand now you’ll probably need it.

Regardless there should be no need to reduce ST prices anyway, any extra the club gets and can generate into the playing squad has to be done
