Possible end to the strip saga?

Hope to fuck this is the end of it now.

It's nowhere near.

Same scenario will exist upon this new deal ending, JD and the likes unlikely touch us with a barge pole, and also possible litigation by JD due to their costs incurred and more.

Then there's the possibility that terms favourable between us / JD ie minimum sales threshold penalties (we'd smash sales targets) aren't favourable with SD where sales could struggle more due to boycotts etc.

It's a minefield, but it's nowhere near over.

Sure your calcs are wrong mate - there's +100% margins on kit sales - between the kit manufacturers, sponsors & club.

Definitely more complex & lucrative than 3quid.

If he didn't like the principal of the deal he shouldn't have signed it anything negative from this board is his fault he is in overall charge.

You mean the principle/s of the deal.

I wrote, not the principal of the deal.

Anyway, back to your, suggestion - people employ people for certain expertise - if they're found out to be failing/useless, then they're shown the door.

King has totally fucked this. Hes done well in other areas but has made a total clusterfuck of the SD arrangement. This is costing us more than it needed to

Nearly 3 years theyve been here and were still dealing with this pish. The sooner King and Ashley are away from our Club the better

Will buying from the Rangers Megastore stop fat Ashley getting a cut or will the glutton get the same amount of money regardless?

Wonder if we'll get a clear answer to this, or something written in statementese later tonight?

Hopefully the strip will be nice to look at even if I don't get to buy it this time round...

Was it no Green that set this up in the first place that has led us to this? Or am I wrong?

If the Club were handling their own retail then this point would be valid although the vat man and suppliers would get 50% between them followed by the typical 40% overhead of running a retail operation which would inevitably end up with £5 profit left for the Club. This is similar to the old deal with RR being a joint venture.   In this case however SD will be controlling all retail operations. They will pay the VAT man and manufacturer and retail overheads and the Club will receive a royalty of typically between 5% and 10% of the net retail sales before VAT ie £42 x 5% - 10% = £4.20-£8.40 per kit.  All other bits of the pie are eaten up by the manufacturer, HMRC and the retailer. Same for all clubs who subcontract their retail operations.

The next little surprise will probably be that we were never contractually permitted to sign a kit deal with Hummel as we're tied into giving Sports Direct the option for one of their pishy subsidiary brands to have first refusal...

Donnay, Slazenger, Firetrap, Everlast, Kangol, Karrimor and Lonsdale are all considered quality brands mate.....

So to claw back the 500k .

My maths are.  50 quid a top.

We get 10% of that which is 5 quid.

So that's one hundred thousand strips need to be sold to cover the 500k..

If you want to factor in the three million quid that Dave King already paid to Mike ashley that's another six hundred thousand strips need to be sold to break even. And we wonder why we're not doing well off the field..

Who actually pays for these deals?

Things are going too positive just now. Decent manager. Decent players who aren't pansies.

We needed a good negative story to stick the boot in.

Three decent results in Europe is about the size of it so far. Gerrard looks hopeful. Aside from that the management side of the club is still a fucking disaster, and will continue to be for some time to come.

Was it not somebody during the Green era that struck the horrendous deal with Ashley for the shirt sales? I loose track with what shifty cunt at what time has shafted us.

I think fat Mike had his own guys on the board looking after his interests and those of Sport Direct.  Mike recently said ownership of Newcastle was of major benefit to his Sport Direct company and was resulting in huge profits.  The guy doesn't give a fuck about football clubs he's just bleeding the game dry.  It's a good job we got him out when we did or he'd own everything by now.
