Disrespectful to Aberdeen....Really?

I don't understand the point of the thread mate. In Stewart's warped mind Aberdeen have won the league and finished 2nd more often than Rangers have since he thinks we're a new club.

His comment was dumb as fuck anyway. Folk are tipping Liverpool for the PL title this year you don't have anyone moaning about how disrespectful it is to Man United etc

Sorry to play devils advocate here but I read him to mean since we returned to top flight so dont have an issue with that point. For me the point is Gerrard made it clear he was referring to that 1 game and Adams is an ex player and therefore is not talking on behalf of the club.

The point of the thread was to point out to our younger members just exactly "how strong" the likes of Aberdeen and their ilk have been in their history. nothing more, nothing less.

I am just going by the post that Gandalf the Blue posted, which if that's exactly what Stewart said, then he didn't say anything about us returning to the top flight. I know exactly what Gerrard said and meant, because I see every interview on Rangers TV; I also know that Charlie Adam is entitled to his opinion, as is every ex=Ranger that puts their views across on TV, newspapers

Agreed mate ..... the other glaring fact as far as "respect" goes, is that without The Rangers, none of the others who sent us down would be anything other than part timers .... our Club has always been the one capable of generating interest and income in the Scottish game.

We have been carrying them all for over 100 years ...... the scum cannot be included in Scottish football .... the reason being they are after all an Irish team .... :p:

Aberdeen's strength is in their own minds as you have pointed out Oz.

Just how many second prizes does it take before their support and their pro pundits realise this is the case?

Craig Levein knows (from the end of last year)...........

“Just because Michael says something, it doesn’t mean that we are doing everything wrong,” said Levein. “It is personal with Michael and he is just making a fool of himself. I don’t particularly like him and I hear he doesn’t like me. I’m actually not that bothered about Michael or what he says but I am annoyed at the BBC. For him to admit that he has an agenda and for them to still allow him the platform, for me, that is a nonsense.

“Somebody drew my attention to what he was saying after the game on Saturday, when we played well and had all those chances, and it got to the point where I thought ‘listen, if he can’t accept that and is still trying to pick holes in it, for me, it comes back to the BBC allowing him to do that’. That is more worrying than what he’s actually saying,” said the former Scotland manager.

Reflecting on his time as Stewart’s manager, Levein said: “All I can say about Michael is that his agent at the time was George Wright, who used to play here (for Hearts). We didn’t have any money at the time but George said that Man United would cover his salary. But we had to put something on the contract so it was £1 a week and, without doubt, it was the worst value for money I have ever had from any player, and that is a fact.”

Holy fuck! Did Levein really say that?:mutley: Levein is a dick, but he's on the money with that statement.

He said that, and a little bit more to boot. Levein seems to have had a complete personality overhaul since he's returned saying what he wants, when he wants about whatever he wants but yeah he defo has no time for Stewart! I don't think many do...........

He's certainly done a complete turnaround for sure. I've only seen/heard Stewart a few times when Rangers TV is playing up and I've had to watch the 'Gers on Foxtel (Is it BT in Britain that televise?) and he is a total fucking Dingbat, so no wonder many like him.
