But as we've learned with many of our signings in recent years, the key to be successful for us is both talent and mentality. One of the big successes of Gerrard (and Mark Allen is has to be said) has been instilling a far stronger mentality and togetherness in our squad, and signing players that buy into that. Windass lacks insight into his own weaknesses. If he stopped believing his own hype and the constant chat from his equally limited father, got his head down and trained hard, found consistency, was more of team player and less of a petulant child he might go on to make something of his career. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have the intelligence to realise this - so he is probably at his level. He looked miserable to sign for Wigan. He knows its a step down is doing exactly what he's always done, blaming everyone but himself and his own attitude.
