GOAT 30,449
First half that mob were walking through us. Reckon we need another big strong defensive midfielder on top of another centre half and striker. I’m also a bit worried about the left hand side, just don’t think the Kent boy has it. GaryMc 2,394
I think Coulibaly is the DM we need alongside a deep lying play maker type which Jack may be decent at. It's a number 10 I think we really need to open teams up and shoot from outside the box. Jonok, Ibrox_Nights, lefkada and 1 other
Popular Post left winger 14,105
We played a team a good couple of steps up from what we’ve played so far and took our time to take control. Still a long way to go, but there’s a team there. big blue Fin, BridgeIsBlue, Ibrox_Nights and 2 others
BlueMe 25,327
Missed Ryan jack tonight. But i thought Coulibaly done the dirty work very well in his absence tbh. big blue Fin
Terry Hurlock Loyal 12,133
Thought the defence looked very ropey at times, last ditch tackles and a soft goal does give me concerns about the next leg. A step up in the quality of pressure applied on us tonight. Hopefully we can get an away goal early and kill the tie. BlueAvenger
Ryju84 3,170
Ejaria took 4 touches when he needed to take 2. And tried to twist in tight areas. If Gerrard gets it into his head that he has 9 outfield players to pass to instead of doing it all himself then it would work. Still.. 3-1 finish... so im gonna be positive now Truth_is_out_there and Fatman10
rossco87 687
I don’t think it is the individuals as much as three players who weren’t getting their balance and shape right in the first half. Being played through is always going to be a risk when playing a pressing game if you don’t do it right. It will improve as the team plays together more throughout the season. Smell the hotdog 4,015
Ejaria gets stick but he’s the only person who can create something out of nothing. He needs to learn that unless he’s in the final 3rd he doesn’t need a through ball. Simple ball is the best one at times especially in middle of the park. I like him, he’s only young and no better to learn off than the gaffer himself. OhW

theclothmonster 1,704
Biggest concern was how badly we seemed to deal with set pieces and crosses into the box in that first half. BlueAvenger and blooberr
PromDeAnglais 5,470
You just need to think of the caliber of team we were up against tonight. They have made the champions league group stages 3 times in the last 5 years. Took points off Chelsea, Seville, Spartak and Sporting. Knocked the taigs out in a playoff, beat us in another play off. Fact is, they are a really good team. I thought we done really well, ropey at the end of the first half but for a immature team still gelling and filled with youth, one or two areas of learning is more than expected. A massive confidence boost tonight though. Bigdave30, folkestoneger, Der Hammer of Der Gods and 1 other
siddiqi_drinker 14,635
Folk need to remember these players are only starting to gel and sometimes, as happened in the 1st half, revert to instinct rather than following team orders. SIRB_72 3,986
Totally agree and it took once pass to leave our two centre halfs exposed. It looked like we fixed it in the second half though. I'm hoping when Jack is back it's not an issue.
16BlueSherbert90 19,223
I tell you, for still being start of season, they're starting to improve a little bit more each game. Still areas needing to work on, but we are achieving so much more this season already. rabc10000, blooberr and laudrupno1
