If this cunt was still of any use he'd have been snapped up by one of the hundreds of clubs available to him south of the border. Fact is though, he hasn't so what does that tell us. A bit of common sense please. If we are serious about Rangers progressing then this is not worthy of further discussion.Ā

Past it? His experience alone puts him head and shoulders above morelos and Lafferty squaredĀ

Experience doesn't stop players from becoming past it. He's 34 and has had two decent seasons, in terms of goals, in the last six.

He was a very good player, but he was also playing regularly from a high level in his teens, and his best days have come and gone. Absolutely no way should we be signing him.Ā

Given we only have 2 recognised strikers (Sadiq, until Iā€™m convinced otherwise is a bombscare and SGā€™s only bad signing as far as Iā€™ve seen) I canā€™t understand why we let Ryan Hardie go out on loan?!

Hardie wasn't going to develop by getting the odd sub appearance, whereas at Livingston he'd be playing every week for a team in which he's already settled into. (Unfortunately his injury means that hasn't been the case yet.) If anything, it shows how unimpressed they were with Herrera that he wasn't retained giving the lack of established strikers.Ā

I would give him a deal until Jan, to cover for injuries to morelas and lafferty. Sadiq is clearly not fancied so fills a gap and with games in Europe we might need him for domestic cup games and to give the front two a rest. If he plays well we roll the contract on until end of the season. Will get 10-15 goals a season up here.

Based on what will he get goals?

I'd take him. Hed be great as a back up option and he'll be able to guide some of the Ć½oung attackers in the youth team.Ā

Add to that, Bent isn't trying to talk his way into a Rangers move for a few grand per week as a backup. If he was happy to mentor younger players and wasn't just after a pay day, there are clubs closer to home who would take him. He's after regular football for tens of thousands per week, and that's why he's linking himself to us.Ā

He's not, he's wanting a club where he can combine playing with media work.
