Popular Post linnyplant 303
I first made contact with Tam on the Old Kinning Park web site about six years ago and then on the Rangers media forum.Tam loved his music and was into an English singer songwriter ,Tom Baxter. We both shared a passion for music and Tam got me tickets for the Tom Baxter gig in the Arches and we met in the Drum and Monkey in the city centre before the gig and had a few beers .He really was a big guy and we got on really well from our first meet onwards . Jacques was with him and you will not be surprised to hear that she was a beautiful looking woman. I attended a few gigs with Tam and Buggleskelly after this and Tam really had an ear for good music.Check out LA band Fitz and the Tantrums, another of Tams favourites who we saw in King Tuts. Buggleskelly tells a very funny story about this gig in the What Are You Listening To Now thread.Check it out. This is one of Tams favourite songs , hope you enjoy it big fellow. Popular Post SeparateEntityMyArse 53,624
Many ways to look at how successful you're seen in life, be it material, how well your kids turn out, what you've achieved etc. But for me it's the impact on others when you go, the turnout, the respect, the impact that you may or may not have even been aware you've had on others - in life, and upon death. I think this thread alone shows that ED done well. Really bloody well. Been working all week and weekend but am now having a wee drink to absent friends tonight . Cheers ED. Popular Post philiprfc 1,799
I had a few good conversations with him over dm. I had mentioned on here that my dad had gone to school with Chic Young, and ED messaged me to ask more as he had also gone to the same school. Turned out that he and my dad knew each other well in their younger days. He immediately knew my dad once I'd said his name, knew my aunts and my grandfathers old business on Elizabeth St. Asked if I knew this guy and that guy, some of my dads old pals who I did know of. Spoke a bit how he met my dad at various times after he had come back to Glasgow, and when they drank in the Old Toll bar. Doesn't sound like much, but my dad had only passed away the previous year, so it was quite a comfort to have these conversations with someone. Very sorry to hear of his passing. Popular Post Jacque333 65
Hi, I know friends of (Tom) Ed kindly kept you updated on here as to what was happening at the time but I really needed and wanted to thank you all personally for all your kind words. Today we took him to rest at the places he held most dear as were his wishes. As emotional as it was I know he would have been looking down laughing at us lurking suspiciously by trees at what we felt the most appropriate spots for him would be in Bellahouston Park. Without say the most special place was in the attached photo in view of his Primary School and the club he loved above all else. A big man with equally big opinions but an even bigger heart ?. Loosing him has left a large hole in my heart but your kind words and thoughts helped when trying to cope with losing my best friend. Popular Post Jacque333 65
Sorry I wanted to say special thanks to ‘Govan Blue’ too for organising the brick for Tom.
