Exactly like that.

Plenty were thinking he was the best thing since sliced bread until recently though.

Agreed, but a lot of people read papers and just get sucked in by the writer, even if there's no quotes or anything concrete in it.

Just like this thread has become a 12 pager on the OP 's opinion which has lead to this "he has a clause in his contract" sort of stuff.

Mate, I'm still pishing myself at your attempt to prove Ejaria had signed for us on July 1st when Rangers and Liverpool both announced it on June 7th.

Obviously they must have forgotten Dodgy Dave's plan and made the announcement early.

You will still be pishing yourself when you have access to the SFA registrations, you a journo too, the window doesn't open till the 09/06/2018, you still think he signed on the 7th??

I must say, I liked him when he first came but not so much of late. And a few of his comments reek arrogance. Bring back Katic with McCauley to mentor him. However, if there is any rumour to number of games played in his contract then it won't happen. If Mark Allen agreed to this then it is wrong.

Especially if we paid money to loan him in.

If we just keep repeating that Worrall has a clause in his contract, that he must play then it will eventually be passed off as fact.

It's a bit taigy, as they have been doing it for years, but never mind.

He should settle down, pick a club and stay there. Does he think he is some sort of  new age traveller??

He's been a little bit out of form, but he clearly has the ability to be first pick for our current team. Form is temporary, ability is permanent (barring serious injury)

You can sign players outside the window, they can't play for the club until the window opens though.

A deal can be announced prior to the transfer of registration being completed (similar to Scotty Arfield and Allan McGregor's). As such, Ejaria's move was registered with the Scottish FA as a temporary international transfer via FIFA's Transfer Matching System and issued with an International Transfer Certificate when the window opened on June 9th.

Funny the things you learn when you're a journo...

The only player I know that has had such a clause in a loan deal (and is currently at the club) is Ryan Kent. Bristol City had to pay a 'penalty fee' to Liverpool after not giving him enough game time last season.

It's not even a penalty fee that's just media spin to make it seem negative. The fee is agreed upfront and then if he plays a certain amount of games it's waived.

It's merely an incentive to get the club to use the player more.

I'm sure that's also how Bristol's boss described it, but yeah, that's exactly what is is.

No issue with a loan player if he’s better than what we have.

Kent is by far our best winger, so he deserves his place.

Is Worrall our best defender? No

Is he better than those we’ve signed on a permanent basis? Again IMO no.

Is he equal to any player we have signed permanently in the same position? Arguably yes, some think him and Katic are on a similar level, fair enough.

The point is even if Katic and Worrall had the exact same attributes, goals, clean sheets, clearances etc Katic is our player. That is who we should be developing and that’s it for me. Worrall IMO would be used in cup games and the lesser games at home for example to give Katic or Goldson a rest.

Good post mate. Agree with all of this.

any deal can be announced anytime, it can only be completed in the transfer window, glad to help, that particular deal was completed on the 1ST July not 7th June as you claimed, keep digging, what are you bloggers like !

The deal was completed on June 7th as confirmed by both Rangers and Liverpool. An International Transfer Certificate was issued on June 9th by FIFA. His registration reverted to Liverpool on June 1st at the conclusion of his loan deal with Sunderland.

According to Transfermarkt, Allan McGregor, Connor Goldson and Scott Arfield also joined the club on July 1st. Yet somehow all three were part of the squad who travelled to Spain for pre-season on June 17th.

That's the same site I got that £8m figure for Worrall.

What's the script with that site? Who own/runs it and who is it for?

Anyone can edit it once you register for a log in. A lot of their info (stuff like market value and transfer fees) are based on news reports and are originally published in Euros then converted to Sterling rather being based than anything official. They list Katic's fee at £2.05m and Barisic at £2.2m despite it having been confirmed that both cost £1.5m by the club. It's owned by Germans iirc an is a general stats website more than anything.

They use the football year as running from July 1st to June 30th each year so any deals which take place before the 1st July are pushed back to avoid the player data feeding into the previous season's stats - July 1st being the date which the German summer transfer window opens each year.

Obvious, transfer window opens on June 9th, couldn't have signed on 7th.

You're missing your original claim that no loan players were signed prior to June 30th and the end of the financial year - suggesting it was done deliberately by the club.

You also seem to fail to recognise the difference between a player being signed and a player being registered. We could sign a player today from any club on the planet and have him on the payroll however, he wouldn't be eligible to play until January 1st when he can be registered with the Scottish FA and issued with a transfer certificate. The last example I can remember involving us was the players we used as 'trialists' in League One (Nicky Law etc). All were employed and paid by the Rangers Football Club however none could be registered with the Scottish FA until the club's transfer embargo was lifted which forced us to play them as 'trialists'.

Cheers. Pretty bullshit that anyone can edit it as it could be a good site for the likes of scouts and guys like yourself to use. Essentially just a football version of Wikipedia then...
