Not sure about that, I thought he made solid contact and took the guy out, and broke the play up at a crucial time with seconds to go and was willing to take the hit. 

I'm sure the ref booked him anyway,.

As much as I’m glad of the point, the tinkering needs to stop

Obviously I'd like a settled defence, that's not up for debate. Gerrard did say at the beginning though that he would pick the team he feels is correct for each game. Some defenders have better qualities or weaknesses than others that can be exploited by teams.
