SPFL delegate snubs Gerrard

Steven Gerrard laid into his Rangers flops – and the SPFL delegate who scarpered and left him standing.

The Ibrox boss hit out at the dismal show from his Gers side in the 1-1 draw with 10-man Dundee.

But while he is baffled by the performance level in a dreadful display at Dens Park, Gerrard was just as confused by the attitude of match delegate Jim Neil.

Rangers were up in arms about a first-half “goal” that didn’t stand after Kyle Lafferty was flagged for being offside.

But before he could ask questions to the official SPFL representative at the game, the Ibrox gaffer was snubbed.

Gerrard said: “It looked okay to me. The official delegate has asked me
if I had anything to say about the officials but before I could open my mouth he walked past me and left

“I can’t say any more or I would get into trouble. He said, ‘Was everything all right?’ and woof – he was off!

I’d have asked him what do you think of our second goal and I’d have liked an answer. He must have plans because he was gone sharpish.”

When asked if the actions of the delegate showed a lack of respect, Gerrard said: “I don’t know, you’d have to ask him.”

Refereeing standards are at a new low and Senior Officials should at least act with honest, transparency and dignity.

I am sure they are trying their best to improve the situation but acting like a 12 year old who has been told he cant play his X Box is not the answer.

It was a goal but the biggest disappointment was only creating two chances against the ten men. We were dreadful.

Aye said to my Da during the game yesterday that it was exactly like the sheep game all over again. We could be playing that game still and we still wouldn't have scored

Gerrard was asked if the actions of the delegate showed a lack of respect, Gerrard said: “I don’t know, you’d have to ask him.”  Are they really going to ask the delegate 'did your actions show a lack of respect?', and would he respond with 'I don't know, you would need to ask him' (meaning Steven Gerrard).  What a farce.

Have we really got to a position now whereby people are too scared to offer up their opinion for fear of SFA sanctions.

Yes the standard of officials is at a all time low in scottish football , perfectly good goal cost us but tbh we had plenty time after that v10 men to win that game comfortably but the players and management team let us down again

This.

Gerrard said it himself - you get some and sometimes you don’t. We got a vital win against hearts with 4 players in an offside position. Sometimes it’s the way the cookie crumbles.

That doesn’t excuse the poor officiating in our country. It’s now well beyond a joke. And a lowly delegate snubbing a gaffer with genuine concerns deserves reprimanded.

The clubs have to start holding the spfl/SFA to account. It’s multiple decisions, multiple officials every single match day.

The offside decision, sometimes you get them sometimes you don't. The reaction of levein to that in the hearts game was ridiculous. Plus you had Rob cunt McLean et al going absolutely mental about it.

Best we had was Andy cunt walker begrudgingly having to admit we were denied a fair goal.

This offside goal shouldnt bother us. We got away with one against Hearts. Sometimes we look for excuses but yesterday was down to us. Still think Stevie G is the man for the job and am still 100% behind him.

The man needs time. An acceptable target - given where we have been - is touching distance at the end of the season.

Build with our young players and owned players - the boys that will be here next season. 1/2 quality additions per transfer window and it will soon click. Get the loanees tf. Play consistent starting XIs.

Craig Levein should be happy as everything he moaned about fucked us in our last 2 games.

you're right mate, moaned about Morelos getting away wi stuff,so he ended up getting sent off next game. and the offside. Levein is a moaning prick every week so don't think it's just us he shouts his mouth off about.

I don't think the main point is the decision itself but the level of disrespect that officials show towards our team and manager.  Guaranteed if it had been the other side the officials would've been tripping over themselves to apologise.

Can you imagine the uproar if Brenda had came out with this after one of their games where they got a raw deal.

I know how poor we were to only get 1 point against 10 men. But

If the goal had stood it could’ve changed how the rest of the game played out. I know it’s all ifs buts and maybes but fact is they would have to come out instead of sitting in for their point and we might not have been so increasingly desperate and had to chase the game so hard.

Someone with some sense.
