Transfer Window

Recommended Posts

We've gone toe to toe with them in the league. It's in our own hands.

I think the scum will strengthen, if ever we needed our Board to find funds to match the scum in a transfer window to give us a realistic hope of winning the league it's now.

Find the funds, give Gerrard the money and backing he needs. Let's go into the next games stronger than we were today, and give ourselves the momentum to do this.

A striker, a creative midfielder and that's about it really. More creativity to get the goals and some composure to finish teams off is what we need, and someone to support or give Morelos a break. I'd take a chance on a Defoe loan, proven lethal striker

Cover for Tav required too although I think one of the trialists sorts that one out.

The one negative from that today is that Kent just priced himself out of our league. Enjoy him till the end of the season.

The best central attacking midfielder we can find would be top of my wish list.  If we could get that lad Jake Cooper it would be good I read we’ve been scouting him in recent weeks.  I think we’ll go after Jones and a backup striker as well.

I hope the window goes well for us and we can really step it up a gear and find some consistency after the break.

2 quality players

Attacking midfielder and a forward/winger who get goals and create.

I listen to a Scottish Football podcast and they had a show the other day where the two hosts had to pick a player each for each top flight side to sign on a pre contract from another Scottish side. This was the two positions they said we are weak in and the two they picked for us: Greg Stewart and Scott Allan 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

Not sure about Jones from the little I've seen.

Godd but not good enough.

I would hope that a fee has already been agreed in principle for Kent. He is unproven in the premier league so I don't imagine too many PL sides will be in for him.

I think they will sign Defoe tbh.

Pretty sure Cooper just signed a new contract the other week

If there was we would probably have heard about it. Can only hope. Guys a superstar in the making.

We’ve had countless windows of big turnaround of players but we are in a position now where we only need to make a couple of additions in key areas to start building on the foundations that are in place. Let’s hope we take our time and sign the right ones.

Agreed. They need cover up front and couple more injuries today which could force them into the market. Throw in our win today and the manner of that win. As for us, it was a great team effort today, but the reality is that we're still overly reliant on two or three players to unlock weaker teams who sit in. Not all that convinced we need to be spending precious funds on the defence when a return to a consistent rearguard could be enough. Just more of today with our midfield controlling the game (passing, tackling, tempo - the works) and thus protecting our defence.

It was said he had a release clause last time we were interested.  He still might in this new contract of his but I’m just guessing.  I doubt Worrall is here for the long-term and McAuley is near 40.

Contracts mean very little thesedays sadly. An extension safeguards the club & ensures they get a decent fee if they decide to sell.
