According to the Sun he let rip at the players for recent results and went off on one. Dempster was there, pulled him aside, views were exchanged and he was suspended.

Over-exuberance?

NEIL LENNON is sensationally on the way out of Hibs after being SUSPENDED by chief executive Leeann Dempster.

SunSport understands his two-and-half-year reign as boss looks to be over following a dramatic exchange with Dempster in the immediate aftermath of a full and frank exchange with his first-team squad at the East Mains training squad.

Lennon looks to be on his way out of Easter Road

Lennon has been furious with performances and a five-game league run without a win, with matters coming to a head following Wednesday night’s 1-0 defeat at Motherwell.

The 47-year-old let rip at his players, making it clear there had to be immediate improvement starting with Sunday’s game against rock bottom St Mirren.

But it’s understood soon after the squad summit, Dempster dramatically got involved and Lennon was told he was to step aside pending the results of a club probe.

No2 Garry Parker and the rest of the backroom staff are believed to be furious with the shock action against Lennon and 100-per-cent supportive of the Northern Irishman.

It's unclear who will take charge of the match against the Saints in Paisley.

Ex-celtic boss Lennon is under contract until 2020 – but now it looks highly likely he will be heading out of Easter Road.

He replaced Alan Stubbs in 2016 a month after the historic Scottish Cup triumph over Rangers and in his first season guided the Hibees back to the Premiership as Championship winners.

Last season they finished fourth but this term they sit eighth.
