We better win the cup

let’s be honest we are winning no cup, we are no better than we were under our last three managers, were fighting it out for second place yet again , with the budget we have we should be performing at a much higher standard, yes Europe was a success to a degree but even there we dropped points when the game was there for the winning

Today showed we will win nothing with this squad, a chance to close the gap even for a day, chance to increase the gap over third place, a chance to put on a display at home and not one player looked interested from the start. There was no tempo or urgency and most worryingly our manager did not seem too bothered or animated until after the game. The little general and Walter would have been on the touch line letting the players know what they were doing is not acceptable.

Well according to the 2 guys behind me if any decisions go against us on Wednesday we should take the players off the pitch and withdraw from the competition.

The sponsor's will demand we are reinstated so based on that I think we're sorted.

Fucking hate the pair of them.

They sound highly entertaining...

Our biggest problem seems to be that we're a one man team and that one man cant be relied upon to play every game because of his discipline.

In terms of idiotic comments this is a bute. I know uncle Tom McCoist trots cthis shite out for his paymasters but have a word with yourself. Should we be so reliant on one player anyway, is he not allowed to get injured, lose form? The novice manager failed to oroperly address the defence, we lack creativity and steel in the centre of the park despite having 192 mid field player's, we have two donkeys returning who should never have been signed and sign a striker whos a box poacher and play him like a target man. Weve spent a bit, but we needed to spend a lot, money has again been badly wasted, but hey ho, we have El Dave at the helm so everything is good. Team excepted. First placed losers, how very ambitious.

Possibly having a tough draw will actually help us and there is a chance of an easy semi final with a first division team guaranteed a place.....horsing Utd would be fun to get to the final.

We might have a chance against a team that will play openly but against any team with ten men behind the ball forget it this is where SG has fallen short he hasnt got a clue to solving this

When was the last time we won the Scottish Cup?   2008/9?

That's a very long time for the Scottish Cup to have been away from Ibrox.    Almost a distant memory.    Shocking isn't it (even despite the years we had to endure in lower divisions).

Does the current squad have a cup-tie will to win ….must win.....game attitude?   Or are they more like a side where on the day you just don't know what you are going to get and even the Manager does not know what he's going to get despite all the pre-match training and game plan stuff.     It's the latter isn't it.   Its not as if they convince themselves that whoever it is they are playing there is an absolute need to win the battle and get the job done.   Its more like they are worried about failure and so afraid to believe in their own abilities,  unwilling to take responsibility and so afraid to have a real go...……...and unable to handle the pressure.  Unable to properly honour the Rangers shirt.

Are they really a cup-warrior side?    Or is their game so one dimensional that converting it into a fearsome cup-fighting cup-winning side is beyond them.    Sleeves rolled up on Weds and a 'get stuck into them' tempo and determination, or ............tons of sideways passing, cautious intricate but ineffective movement leading nowehere and being taken on a sucker punch breakaway or on penalties?    We'll see on Weds.

The squad don't seem to have a winning mentality. To overcome this unfortunately you have to win things. The celtic team are full of players with a winning mentality now (domestically) due to the dominance over the last so many years.

As much as it pains me to say it, this season being Gerrards first I don't think it was realistic to expect us to win the league. Hopeful ofcourse but if we can get 15-20m for Morelos in the summer and then the 8-10m for Tavernier, which will make me sad losing the two players, it may be better for us in the long run.

Try to re-invest. Hopefully by next season players like Katic, Barisic and others we have signed this year will be able to step up a bit more. But 8 points isn't an insurmountable gap either. It's only 3 games worth, football is a funny old game where an 8 point lead can diminish in no time. celtic are on a good run at the moment where as we really aren't. But who's to say over the next month this doesn't change. All we can do as fans is back the team to the best of our ability and see where it takes us come May. Starting Wednesday night trying to get behind the players (despite many not believing they deserve it). Removing Gerrard and starting again the way we have for the last 5/6 seasons is not the way to go as we are perilously close to doing this every season and handing them title after title.
