This is the first game of the Women’s World Cup that I have watched and anytime I ever see some shite in the media about Women deserving equal pay in football I will be highly amused.

The standard is horrendous I reckon if you were to stick one fast youth men’s player in there of even the slightest bit of ability (say someone like Glenn Middleton) they would be able to just waltz up the pitch and smash it in the net without anyone getting close to them.

Pre the last Women's WC the Aussie women's team played an U16 lads school team, official score was 0-6 but my Aussie son said the actual score was 0-17 but the media didn't want to push the bad press.

No matter how many players there are

No matter how the media hype up the game

I believe the US ladies team are currently taking legal action to get equal pay with the men's national team. That may work there as they are more successful on the world stage than the men, and ladies football is actually well supported in the US.  This will lead to other national teams trying this, but the money or support (no matter what the BBC tell us) is not there.

On the Saturday prior  to the world cup my wee lad went to watch England v New Zealand at Brighton.  Tickets cost £1  and they still couldn't fill the ground.

Even Oxford United would hammer any ladies international all star team put before them.

It's been well mentioned that u15 male teams regularly beat the women's first teams with scorelines like 5-0 and more so aye, Oxford would probably get the game called off at HT for leading about 37-0
