Murdo MacLeod actually begins to make some sense today here's some snippets from his column

What a difference a month and a good pre-season result makes. Rangers will be serious contenders for the SPL title and will pose a major threat to Celtic's three-in-a-row ambitions. Why? Four weeks ago people were saying it was Celtic who had the strength in depth in their squad and were certainties for the championship. On closer inspection, Rangers have assembled a decent squad and they showed in the 2-0 win against Chelsea that they are gelling.

He then goes on to say that McCulloch, Cuellar, Beasley and JCD will make a big difference to the side. Although he does then say we need a couple more players which is true as that will give us a healthy squad with serious competition for places and a strong bench. Then the best bit -

Celtic seem to have a team made of six strikers and six midfielders but no defenders

He then says that under PLG the defence let us down at set-pieces but this won't happen as often under Smith and in his typical style Smith let Celtic take all the plaudits for signing the likes of Brown and Donati. He then ruins it though by saying he makes Celtic slight favourites to win the title and also the following as well -

GORDON STRACHAN'S belief that Celtic could win the English Premiership one day is not as outrageous as some people would have you believe.

Over the years there has been a growing feeling that the Old Firm could hold their own down south.

Scottish clubs were never far away from English teams in terms of results on the pitch.

Rangers beat English champions Leeds in the Champions League in 1991 and Celtic saw off strong Blackburn and Liverpool sides on their way to Seville in 2003.

Celtic also got the better of Manchester United last season so Scottish teams are not as far away as we might think.

But the main difference has always been finance and the vast sums of cash coming in through TV deals in particular.

The riches Sky have poured into the English games have been astronomical.

Neither Celtic or Rangers could walk into the Premiership and win the title at the first attempt. It would take a while.

But with roughly £30million coming in every season through TV revenue the Old Firm would soon be able to take on the very best in England and would be capable of competing at any level.I can understand why Strachan is saying this and nobody can really disagree.

Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in the world in terms of the size of their support.

In financial terms they're miles behind the top teams in England, Italy, Spain and even Germany.

These clubs make much more money than Celtic and that's why with the resources they have at their disposal getting into the last 16 of the Champions League and raking in £10.5million is a fantastic achievement.

It shows you Celtic are not a million miles away from the top clubs in the Premiership on the field.

But they are a million miles away from being accepted into the top league down south.

F*ckin tosser but the one that made me laugh was the followin p*ick on the Real Radio Hotline

"Rangers and Chelsea are set to play this fixture every year and it is going to be called the Runners-up cup"

Can I be the first to say Mark Curry you are a f*ckin bawbag

what he says at first is something i think we can all agree on. We HAVE assembled a decent squad and seem to be gelling well. The first half of last season we DID lose countless goals on set pieces and crosses into the box, which wont happen as often this season. Also i'd like to point out that celtic will of course be slight favourites giving that they have won the championship the last 2 years. It goes without saying really. Although we do seem quietly confident shall we say?

We'll fuckin piss the league this year. Murdo's a cunt and his articles (penned by someone else nae doubt, the thick twat) should be derided and treated with contempt. "Celtic also got the better of Manchester United last season" WTF??

This will be the easiest league win in 10 years for us. Put those scummy cants right back in their slimy bog-holes!
