Ricksen passed away

Horrible illness, one of the very worst - and I found it very hard to see Ricksen in the media over these last 12 months. My uncle suffered a very similar thing, and it was troubling to watch his decline - from just stumbling as he was walking, to struggling to talk, to struggling to swallow.

His life quality would have been horrid towards the end, and it must be awful to still be sound of mind whilst your body gradually fails.

Far to young and tragic for his young family - seeing dad go through that. Ricksen was inspirational in his approach to this illness, and it was great to see the Rangers family be around him.

Devastated when I seen the headline.

Absolute warrior who fought an overwhelming disease with humility, dignity, humour and immeasurable bravery

I hope his wee girl will look back at what her dad did to try and stay with her and it inspires and comforts her.

Rest easy Fernando

A tear is shed and a beer will be raised in your honour this night.

Once a Bear. Always a Bear.
